Hey guys, I'm going to try out my first AutoX this weekend @ Giants stadium - the NASA-X going on then. Anyone dropping by?

I actually had a hard time registering - I think their website is buggy...

Yep, I think I was one of the first to register. Half an hour after I registered I got the e-mail saying that pre-registration was open! I guess I actually had good timing for this one, usually they wait till the middle of the week.

Once you get registered with a car number the pre-registration goes pretty quick. Just make sure you get there on time since they will give your spot away to the stand-bys. I think this happens at 8:45 or so, when late registration starts.

The main downside to their events is the weather. I think 1 year was at least 3/4 of the autocrosses were in the rain, half of those were COLD rainy days too! If it's not raining Sunday, you'll need the sunblock and a few gallons of your liquid of choice. Very rarely is there something in the middle!

As for advise, show up thinking you know absolutely nothing about driving... and listen to the instructor! I still have to do that every now and then. They'll give you a quick novice lesson and walk you through the course.

I don't think that looking clueless will be a problem with me! I did get a confirmation e-mail yesterday, although today I see they are still having problems (sometimes the table comes up with the "register now" link, other times it says "pre register coming soon"). My friend is coming too. Can't wait really, I just hope crap dosen't break. I'm not too concerend about brakes, b/c they are relatively easy; just don't want a steering pump to go, or to spin a bearing from lack of oil.

The good news is my only suspension mod are subframe connectors.... I'll have a good starting place w/ the regular z28 suspension & 16" wheels & goodyear rsa's, lol.

WOW... that was quick. Not only were the pictures posted quickly, but someone who wasn't there found them real fast too. The only part of the day that wasn't fast was... well nevermind!!

Yeah, I knew about that one but I'm more of a NASA kind of guy. Been that way since the 'split' a few years ago. I know there are a few guys that run both events. I'm supposed to start my engine swap this week, if I have time or plans change I might get out there to watch for a little.

FYI, NASA has an autocross on the 22nd also... I'll preregister for that one and hope the motor is done in time.
