Hello all,
I recently replaced my Baer GT+ system on my 2002 Firehawk. The Baer system is for sale for $825. Consists of everything it originally came with for complete install: * C5 PBR polished calipers with red "Baer" lettering (extra cost bling option); * Baer two piece rotors, alum hats, slotted rotors--no drill holes. Unlike the C5 upgrade these rotors are two piece and can be easily replaced at low cost by ordering a new set from Coleman Racing or from Baer. Additionally, the rotors are larger than the C5 setup--they are 13 1/8". The greater mass provides for more heat soak area etc; * Baer proprietary brackets; * Bedded in pads not previously used; * SS rubber covered hoses; * all included fastners; These fit w/my stock 17 inch wheels. New you're looking at about $1100 Regards Steve bicycle55@suscom.net |

Hey Steve,
Glad you got the ProSpeeds installed. Now that you have done so, if it is NOT too much trouble, can you do a comparison post between the two systems? Seems like the "which is better" C5 or Porsche based/Stoptech question gets asked ALL DAY LONG, and no one has experienced both....or at least reported on it.... Thanks! |

Haven't had a chance to do a comparison yet. Will report when I do so.
Otherwise, TTT and make offer. Regards Steve |

Yeah, got the radiator installed. Works great.
Story and details at a later date. BTW, despite Mitch's best efforts this still is a Baer brake for sale ad. Next step EBay. And the brakes with the huge rotors work super too BTW I also have a set of Prospeed brakes (complete and new/never used for sale.) I'll list in a bit after the Baer goes for far less. Steve Yes, I know everyone wants to know why I had two sets. Later Steve |

Hi TB,
I don't know the Baer cost but Dennis, aka Teutonic Speedracer, has purchased the GT+ rotors from Baer and he'd know. IAE, I wouldn't get 'em from Baer but from Coleman Racing. I'll call in the am and get a rough price. Regards steve |

Well.....I got (2) replacement rotor RINGS over the winter (slotted & zinc-washed) for $440. That may seem expensive, but the rotors are of very high quality and aren't throw aways like I hear a lot of people doing every track weekend or so. My 1st set of rotors lasted 15,000 street miles and about 15 track days using Hawk HP+ which are hard on rotors. No cracking, just getting thin from the miles. My stock rears had the same track days, but 30,000 street miles, and they were under min. thickness!
I may try Coleman for replacements next time depending on the price. I am rather happy with the price and performance of the Baers. PS....I still highly recommend brake ducting. |

Regarding the cost of replacement rotors, I just spoke to Coleman Racing Products, (800) 221-1851, http://www.colemanracing.com/prodex/ They advised the cost of a pair of rotors (13 inch) is $244 for a pair. Add $11 if slotting is desired. Regards Steve |

I guess I should check the min thickness b/c of the agressive Hawk HP+ but I bet they are OK. |
