Folks:
Since my '91 is really never raced anymore and is primarily a street car, I put the airbag back in. So, I'm left with a Grant Formula 1 style leather wheel and adapter. Three spoke wheel, best I've had (better IMHO than the Momo MonteCarlo I used to have). It the only wheel I use when I need one. The adapter is actually listed for '89 and earlier cars (since it's illegal to take an airbomb off). But the adapter worked fine on my '91 car, and I suspect will also do the job a-okay on a 4th gen car as well. The wheel is in great shape. The adapter cover (nearest the column) is a little nicked up where I had to shorten it to keep from tearing up the column cover........... $80 shipped (as long as you live somewhere reasonable.....) |

If you ask them they will say it won't fit, but they just don't want to get sued for helping you eliminate the airbomb. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) |

you would have to post this during a week when i don't have money. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
I'll be interested in a week or two, when I have some cash again. If someone else isn't smart enough to pick this up in the meantime. |

Sorry, no digital camera........... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
If you go to Grant's site (grantproducts.com) and go to Grant Racing. You'll find a Formula 1 wheel. Same thing, but mine isn't D-shaped, and has "GRANT" painted in red under the horn button. |

Just curious Sam, how much roughly does a stock 01 Z28 steering wheel minus the airbag weigh? I may be interested.

A stock wheel with the airbag gone weights about the same as the Grant, it just looks a lot worse...... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

On an LT1 expect to save about 10lbs vs a stock wheel with bag. Maybe a little more depending on the actuall weight of the wheel that is replacing he stocker. LS1's should be close. |

Hmmm, I might get this if nobody else does. What diameter is the wheel?

Does anyone want this thing? Considering it? If not I'm going to try and move it elsewhere.
