Ordered arp studs for my camaro. Installed the rear, had to go to 4 advanced/autozone stores to get enough lug nuts for the rear wheels. Still need to do the fronts, anybody have any luck getting lug nuts at local parts stores? I thought parts stores would have bins of lugnuts???

I thought parts stores would have bins of lugnuts??? parts stores do keep bins of lugnuts, but for some reason the inventory always goes wrong on them, probably due to the fact that the packages are so smalland people don't like sorting through the packages to place them in their correct bin whenever a shipment comes in. if you're looking for OEM lug buts I'd order a set from SLP for $20...otherwise go to the dealer and pay $2.50 a pop |

Yeah, for stuff like that I go to a local store called Monument Auto....I find for stuff that the "trained monkey" can't find a part number for you....half the time they look pissed if YOU DON'T KNOW the damn part number (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) ...it is better to go to a non chain store where the average age of the counter man is over 18.... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Hey, I was one of those, or maybe I was the renegade, untrained monkey (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rotf.gif) . From about 18-25 (off and on). I had to do something in college. I was going to call Sam at stranoparts and see if he could get me the SLP set up for as cheap or cheaper (if he has any in stock). SLP is so hard to deal with sometimes, it may be easier to talk to Sam (Tom at Tbyrne, etc any of the SLP dealers). |

Thanks for the info, I am going to road atlanta on saturday and sunday so would like to get the front studs on, so no time really for shipping.
I'm pretty excited to see what the car will do. I have done all of my tracking there in the z06. I have only run the camaro once, at roebling totally stock, with zr1 wheels and victoracers. Now I have c5 brakes, with carbotech xp9, lt4 hotcam, headers, catback with no cat, ground control coilover/weight jacks, koni sa's, and 32mm front bar, going to run brand new v710 tires. Also installed a power steering cooler, let's see if this sucker boils over this time! The z06 turned 1:40, I am hoping for 1:45 with the camaro, we'll see! |

I'm using generic type lugnuts from a dealer on yahoo right now. About 7-8 bucks for 20. I went to a couple of parts stores, they wanted 3-4 bucks a nut for OEM Nuts. The SLP deal seems resonable.
