A member of my local f-body club passed away early this morning. Dave Berry was a great guy and a great driver. He autocrossed up here in KYR with me and regularly autocrossed in Nashville. He was a great person that was talented not only at driving but at life as well. I truly think he had the potential to be great.

Here's an account of the accident from a friend:

Details are still sketchy at this point. The accident happened just before 2:00 this morning on I-24 near Clarksville. About 30 minutes from their home. Not sure who was driving, but the truck went down a steep embankment and turned onto its side. David passed away while being transported to the hospital. His father apparently was trapped in the truck as it became engulfed in flames. David's companion was asleep in the sleeper of the truck. She was able to escape and has a broken nose and several cuts & bruises.

Dave was returning from a tractor pull in TN.

He posted here a few times under the name of "DBerry."

I'd just like to ask for prayers for him and his family and friends. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
