So friday I ordered on the web 2 5x11 150 lb AFCO rear springs for $96. I get a call monday that they are out of stock and can send me $90 Blackhawk springs instead. I agree to have Blackhawk springs

So yesterday I get AFCO 150 lb springs. I notice today I have both a $96 charge and then a $90 charge. I call back and ask why I got charged $90 instead of being refunded the difference.

They claim I ordered AFCO's on friday over the phone. I ordered online. Then they go on to say they called me monday about a web order placed over the weekend for AFCO's because they were out of stock on AFCO's. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

They're not being very helpful and claim that I made two seperate orders and that the owner's wife took my order over the phone friday and there is no way she could've entered a web order as a phone order. They said that they typ in what kind of order it is.

I'm waiting for the blackhawks to get here. Plus I'm at work, so I don't feel like yelling over the phone.

Any ideas on what I should do?

(It sounds to me like my web order got misprocessed as a phone order friday and not cleared from the system and then monday the second person ran my web order through as a web order. But the owner's wife has been doing this for 20 years so she couldn't have made a mistake. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) After all she has divine inspiration and is infallible.)

You may not want to hear this, but...

Try to maintain a sense of humor about it. At least springs are on the way and this is the goal. In the end, they will realize that you paid twice for something that they only sent to you once and will have to provide a refund.

Once it's resolved, evaluate how it went and how it was handled and decide what you will do in the future based on the total experience... It ain't over yet.

Just my $0.02.

They screwed up one of my orders and mis-shipped one of the parts. I think I still have a credit with them (which I'll probably never use). I know everyone makes mistakes, but the way they handled mine made me think that I'd shop elsewhere from now on (and I have....this was 2 years ago).

If you say you never called them, then, I'd think that you never called them??? Strange.

The second set of springs is supposed to get here tomorrow. I think I'll just call up tomorrow when they get here and ask them to send ups back out to pick them up and give me a refund. I would also like to talk to the woman he claims took my order over the phone.

Based on this experience I'd recommend people avoid them. I'm not mad that the mistake was made, just their insistance that they didn't make a mistake.

Using common sense... why would I order two rear springs over the phone friday and then order two more of the same spring over the internet over the weekend?

Keith, I already have one set from them and they are sending a second set. Pretty complicated.

In short, somehow one internet order with them on friday turned into a phone order and an internet order.

The first order was filled....then they tried to fill it again and didn't have the springs. So they called and said let's switch to the other brand. I said fine having no clue that anything funny was going on.

Then yesterday springs that they said they didn't have showed up and my account had two charges on it-then I called.

I would've gotten you springs, that's not a problem. BTW, I did call you back about the coil-overs, don't know if you go the message. Was out of town due to some bad news.

As a small business owner, I can say I have made mistakes like this when things got a little crazy. I am my only employee so it can get crazy quick! Take a deep breath, and go about obtaining your records. Get:

1) Receipts
2) Credit card statement
3) if it comes to it, phone records. The #s you called on that day will be on your phone bill.

Give them a chance to straighten it out for ya! Have patience, and don't get worked up until all the info is in for them to look at. If they are worth their salt they will make it right for ya!

If they don't, you have all these nifty tools to make your case. Hopefully you made the purchase by credit card. In that case, you can call your credit card company now, state there is a dispute, and most companies will not charge you until the matter is resolved.

John,

PM me a phone number to call you, I can probably get this fixed. I'm an ex-Jegs employee (and my buddy is crashing with us for a while who still works there).

Kevin

[edit] I made a phone call to a friend in customer service and a new "Call tag" was mailed to you on Monday. You should see it in the next few days.[/edit]

That's cool Sam, I understand. I didn't notice your voicemail to later this week. Opps.

I'll give you a call sometime soon so we can discuss possible springs and how my current Bilsteins will do.

BTW, Capital called back last night and left a message apologizing saying it was their fault after checking into it.

It's not that they screwed up it was their attitude that there was no way they made a mistake. The guy gave me a strong impression he thought I was fuill of it and wasn't going to probe any deeper. Oh well, all is good.

So friday I ordered on the web 2 5x11 150 lb AFCO rear springs for $96.

Next time, give me a ring. I might know where you can get AFCO springs. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/2thumbs.gif)
