QUOTE (MikeP-99Z @ Dec 29 2004, 01:31 AM) Interested in the math here... isn't offset calculated from the centerline of the rim? http://www.usacomp.com/Offset.htm Yup, it is. And, I think I figured it wrong. |

Ok. Now that I'm awake, I just refigured it. The specs are:
F: 17x9.5 60.325mm backspacing R: 17x11 68.2625mm backspacing I think the math works on those numbers. I was figuring 3/16 as 3/8ths last night among other problems..... |

QUOTE (231go @ Dec 28 2004, 11:55 PM) Im not as worried about the fit as I am them being legal. My car is run in A-Stock and I need a 17x9.5 w/ 56mm front and 17x11 50mm in the rear. Rules say that I can go +/-.25 of an inch, but thats all. I would measure my 17x9.5's, but I don't have any 17x11's to look at. Offset for the front should be at 2.2 and the rears at almost 2 inches. I think the fronts may be legal, the rear may need a 13mm (1/2") spacer to be legal. Based on a tolerance of 6.35mm (.25"). You needed a 56mm front, these are 60.325. The rears are 68.2625mm and you need 50mm, so a 1/2" spacer would get you "there". That makes more sense. |

I still think im going to pass. I would need to run a big spacer just to be legal, and if anything I wanted to leave room for a 1/4" spacer on top of the stock 50mm offset in case I have clearance issues w/ the 335's. I wish you were a little closer so that I could throw them on and see just how much clearance I would have, ow well..

According to my rough calculations I get that the fronts are 42mm offset and the rears are 56mm.
See this site for a good visual reference: http://www.skulte.com/adapterfaq.html A 50mm 17x11 has 7.93" of backspacing. so if yours measures 8 3/16"; that is about 1/4" more or 56mm A 38mm offset 17x9.5 has 6.7" of backspacing. so yours measures 6 7/8"; that is about 3/16" more or about 42mm.
