The following is an e-mail from a friend.. We are trying to generate enough interest in this to possibly get a discount on a large purchase...

I used a borrowed camera from Chasecam last weekend at Willow. I have to say I was impressed with the quality and ease of using the device. I spoke to the President of the company and he is willing to work with me if enough people are interested. The buy would include the Hi resolution camera, cig lighter power cord, microphone and your choice of either a suction cup mount or a roll bar clamp mount. I've added links so that you can see the descriptions. I used the section cup mount with the camera on the windshield behind the rear view mirror. It was out of site and out of the way. You will still need a recorder. I used my video camera and mounted it safely in the back.

Total if bought direct would be about $275.00 plus tax and shipping. I have him willing to knock $50 off the price for an order of 20. IF I can get 20+ orders I'll move forward.

Send me a private email if you'd like to be included.
Carl

I've got to finish my taxes, and see where I'm. So long as I don't owe the IRS, I should be in for one, in a couple of weeks.

What sort of timeframe are you looking for?

The downfall of those cams is light changes. Fast light changes will really play with the color balance on those.

That's not to say they're not cool and worth a consideration, just know that the image isn't going to be the same as if though your camcorder lense was doing the recording.
