I get home from work today to find 2 17x11 and 2 17x12 CCW's the brown truck dropped by the back door. The front door had my Corbeau FX1 seat and bracket.

And the postal carrier dropped a racer parts wholesale catalog.

Santa/FedEx hit up my buddies shop yesterday too. He delivered my Percy Lexan Speedglass front and rear windshield!! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Gotta go through inspection March 1st, then work on installing it!

Hmm...how much for the Speedglass windshields? Are they a 'race car only' option, or would be be viable for street car as well? I'm looking at the weight savings and i'm drooling here, 60lbs on the front glass only? wow, i could use some of that on my porker formula, which just happened to develop a small crack in the windshield... <-the official excuse to want to spend more money (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Well, it's not going to be 60 lbs just from the front. I went 1/8" front/rear. I later realized that if I ever wanted to run SCCA, that you need 3/16" in the front. The stuff is pretty thin, and will require bracing. Per Steve D's recommendation, I asked for Blems. I got front and rear curved and coated (inside/outside) for $400. Normally they are $355 a piece. I was told the blems are very minute. Aaron at Percy told me they will probably be hard to find. He said their quality department is pretty anal (they make stuff for NASCAR). I told him I'd post on here, good news if mine was nice. I haven't pulled the plastic off or installed it yet, so we'll see in a few weeks. I'll update then.

Oh, and illegal for the street. I'll probably drive around to the shop or gas station, etc only at night when the lexan and bracing won't be obvious to a cop. The 1/4" could probably be used without bracing and look factory.
