Sailer Dawn Goff
7lbs 11oz, 20inches long 12:42 AM, Sunday morning 04-3-05 Talk about a whirlwind. Saturday night my wife starting having small contractions about 10-12 minutes apart and we didnt think to much of it. Out of nowhere her water broke and her contractions went to 5 minutes apart instantly. So it was, load up the burb we are out of here at 1030pm. Half way to Evergreen Hospital the contractions went to about 2 minutes apart. I thought we were going to have a baby inside the car on the way to the hospital. Got to the hospital and got her to a room. After sitting in the bath tub for about 20 minutes it was time to push. After 15 minutes of pushing we had the new little one. TOTAL TIME IN LABOR: 2 hours!! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) She did this with no medications or drugs of any kind. The hospital said that only 10% of the 400 births a month can do it all natural (note to self, don't piss her off). The baby came so fast that there wasnt even a doctor in the room with us and the nurse ended up having to deliver the baby! I will be inquiring as to what kind of a discount I am going to get for not having a doctor present in the room when the baby is delivered. She is a tiny little thing and is very quiet. She has yet to cry once. Even when she was born she just looked around at everyone and she only makes little noises when she is hungry. It was really nice not having a squalling baby in the room with us like some of the other new parents that were there. But she was up all night wanting to eat so we are both tired. I stayed up to make sure Misty was comfortable and had what she needed. Not only that but the hospital had cable so I got to watch all the discovery channel and history channel I could handle. We are now back at home and getting settled in. Baby is doing great and so is mom. We have nick named Sailer, "Squeeker". She makes little mouse squeek's when she sleeps. Little Boyce is loving having a sister around. As soon as I can find the memory card for my digital camera I will get some pics up. |
