Getting started Friday night. I will have at least 3 T56 experts there since I know nothing about them (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I'm excited to finally have a "real" sports car after this weekend (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

You should be able to do it in a weekend if that is your goal. I kind of broke mine up into tasks like getting the pedals & hydraulics mounted, doing the physical swap, test drive, wiring and then get the interior back together. Breaking it up into smaller chuncks of work helped me keep focused. In the end it's worth it because damn it's just fun to drive now. I only had one real problem and that was trying to get the T-56 to fit properly. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rotf.gif)

It just wouldn't go in that way huh?

The only thing I'm nervous about is the clutch. Its a McLeod Twin Disk. For a newbie stick shifter like me I'm going to have some trouble learning how just to take off with it. The one I've driven seemed to have a very narrow "slip" range to get rolling...its sort of like a light switch..on or off.

I have pulled my t56 so many time's, as you know chris this is the easy part (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) but all the other stuff like the hydraulic's,pedal's, and the wiring (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Oh and you can use the trans cooler as a PS cooler! or oil.

yeah... it's a on/off switch all right.
the smoother you try to be with it, the more it'll shake.
You beat it hard... it's smooth... go figure... as if it wants you to be hard on it.

Eugenio,

Who sells that clutch kit? I don't remember seeing it on any websites....or maybe I never really looked (possibly the second option). If I'm going to change mine anytime soon (not sure when it will finally die), I may go that way.

The only real problem I ran into when I did the swap on my wifes car 2 years ago was the reverse lights. I had to extend the wires from the harness under the console to the trans switch.

Also, the park/neutral cable that runs to the ignition switch is a b!tch to remove.....so, don't (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) just tie wrap it and leave it under the console. The swap isnt real difficult but, It is a lot of work.

Good Luck! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
