I paid the entry fee for the Pony Express 130 Open Road Race in June yesterday and found out that ALL 3 of the car numbers that I wanted had been taken. I tried calling the a couple times with new numbers but to no avail they to were already taken. I have tried 346, 427, 777, 123, 69, and a host of others. The only one I havent asked for and I know that noone has is 666. I can choose from 1-999 but cant think of any other numbers. How bout a little help from you guys? Any numbers you would run with and what does it mean....most numbers have a meaning to the driver. I would like to try and keep it related to the car, thats why I went with the 346. How bout some help!

... how 'bout
  • the last three of your VIN
  • the final gear ratio of the car
  • the first three of your SSN
  • use 433 (130 divided by 3=43.3
  • take your age and multiply that by 2 and add your IQ squared, then divide by three
  • the speed you hope to achieve in this event
  • take you car weight, multiply by 2, then divide by C.I. and multiply by 4
... the boss is comin, gotta go.

I have in the past used the part numbers from vacuum tubes ....

Are there any purely numeric RPO codes?

Measurements of your favorite centerfold?

Chapter and verse of a bible passage with personal significance (as long as it doesn't appear on Pro Wrestling t-shirts).

My usual number came from the Hitchhiker's Guide books. It was also Fox Mulder's apartment number in X-files, and I suspect we (me and the writers of the show) were pursuing the same arcane joke.

Birthday of a child?

Favorite song? I'd avoid picking any bluegrass songs about trainwrecks, but "giddyup 409" might be OK ...

Cam numbers?

Awesome. So does the SS hood actually start to do anything at around 200 mph?

Darn, I was told the SS hood is good for 1hp per 1 mph, so at 200 mph by my calculations, it should add around 200 horsepower. That is the only reason I bought the SS, did the dealer tell me wrong?

You should have just gone with your IQ, that way you'd only need 2 digits (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
