I own a 1987 camaro which I am currently building to run on the road course circuit and autocross. It has a full spohn suspension, eibach springs, koni shocks and struts, edelbrock strut tower brace, etc.. and is in the process of getting a T-56 installed along with other engine and drivetrain mods. My daily driver is a 1998 Z-28 camaro with just a few bolt-ons but will soon be under the knife as well getting a complete suspension build-up. I am from the Knoxville, TN area, if you want to know anything else just holler, thanks,

Michael

Greetings Michael! I have two third gens (see sig and photo). I did not see "roll cage" in your list for the third gen, hope you are planning that if you plan to be tracking that car on a regular basis. Happy building!

Thats a very nice car! What kind of tires and wheels do you have on that car? They look wide, I need some lower profile, wider tires on my car because those 245-60's flex too much and loose grip under hard acceleration. I can never put power down coming out of a corner because it crosses up too much

Bill,

What size CCWs are you running? Any chance you weighed them before you had tires mounted and balanced?

Definately a pipe dream on my part, but I'd love to own a set some day. *drool*

Thanks 98_LS1, you got a nice sport coupe. What are you running for an engine?

The wheels are CCWs (Complete Custom Wheel) in 17x9.5 w. 5.5" backspace. I'm running 275/40-14 Kumho v710s tires this year. Are you running 15" or 16 wheels?

The CCWs weighed ~18 lbs. bare.

After 01badZ28 told me about the Oak Ridge events and I tried it out I was hooked! There is nothing like pushing your car and driving skills to the limit legally so I decided to go all out and continue building the 87 for track events.

Right now I'm running the factory LG4 305 roller motor but I've got quite a few bolt-ons so it holds it own pretty well. Currently it is out of the car getting a complete rebuild since I've put over 210,000 hard miles on it and since I'm doing a T-56 conversion. This is what I've done to the car so far:

1.) Hedman large tube headers
2.) Hedman 3" matching Y-Pipe
3.) Dynatech 3" powercat
4.) Flowmaster American Thunder 3" catback
5.) Edelbrock performer intake and carb, 600cfm
6.) Mallory billlet HEI distributor
7.) Griffin aluminum radiator
8.) TCI trans cooler ( Don't need it anymore (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/burnout.gif) )
9.) 3" open element breather with K&N
10.) Taylor 8.8mm wires
11.) Spohn sway bars
12.) Eibach pro kit springs
13.) Edelbrock strut tower brace - 3 point
14.) Spohn wonder bar - Adjustable
15.) Spohn LCA's
16.) Spohn panhard bar - Adjustable
17.) Going to buy - T-56 torque arm from Spohn
18.) Driveshaft safety loop
19.) Moog tie rod ends and pitman arm
20.) Need to buy - Spohn tubular A-arms
21.) Koni shocks and struts
other little mods, mostly cosmetic but the car was bought new in 87 and has been in the family since, I drove it every day untill this past January when the fuel pump crapped out so I decided to tear it down and do it right.

15" torq thrust II's currently, plans are for 17" though
