I know many of you never bother to view the Convertible discussion area, but I drive a 'vert and sometimes like to look for 'vert specific information.

Some moderator (name withheld) that doesnt even drive a camaro has been deleting posts. All that myselft and several others wanted was some info on a subwoofer/enclosure that would fit in the package tray area on my SS.

How pathetic. This is from the Subwoofer thread in the Convertible discussion area... the least visited area on the whole LS1.COM site. First it was the AX/RR/OT section that went to shit and now the Convertible section.

Anyone want to start FVERT.COM (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Ha Ha. Thanks for listening, needed to vent.

Damn... I checked my email and xtropper banned me for three days from LS1.COM for posting the following:

"What happened to this thread?!! I was following it and now its all
edited out. WTF? Does anyone really care if Pepboys arent paying
sponsers? Do any sponsers sell enclosures that fit on the package
tray? Nope.

Someone want to PM me the 'vert sub enclosure that fits between the
seat back and the trunk on the package tray.

Reminds me of hall monitors from grade school. "

You know, the non-paying advertising rule has been in effect there for as long as I can remember, but for some reason they're enforcing it much stricter in the last 6 months or so it seems. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I get the distinct impression some of the new moderators there are on a little bit of a power trip and have nothing to reign them back in.

Xtrooper isn't a new moderator, and I had a thread locked by him many months ago when I complained about a problem I was having with a product (and asked if anyone made something that worked better).

I suspect the mods are mostly responding to increased pressure/focus from above, though.

They are probably encouraged to "share the load", so to speak, and help out if they spot a rogue subwoofer post while the regular mod is pursuing their day job. Otherwise, who knows how many people might rush out and buy subs from Pepboys during the intervening hours (gasp!).

They enacted the "non-paid sponsor rule" sometime in mid 2000. People were pissed about it then too but it's gotten worse. Xtrooper is a jerk anyways-cannot recall any one instance in specific, but I remember some harrassment coming from him before he was made a mod. They pick some of the worst people to be moderators (i.e.; teenagers, and people that always seem to start something).

Oh sure ....

You know ... I can certainly see not allowing a non-sponsor coming in to advertise their products, whether it's in direct competition or not.

But I think it's doing a huge disservice to the community to not allow the users to police bad practices, poor quality or helping a brother out to find a part he needs.

I'm convinced some vendors, like Arlington Motorsports in Arlington, Texas, sponsor LS1.com as protection against the community airing all their dirty laundry in public. It's sad how great that place used to be and now shady that place has become.

The place has definitely turned heavy handed. I think it will be the death of the place. It has definitely lost it's luster ...

I know... I read the comment on the title... I don't take it personally.
I'm Eugenio_SS, not "the ls1 moderator" (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) , although I am one.
Don't worry, be happy.
btw, when a thread is copied to Trash Can... it means nothing to the thread... it's stays the same.
It was not deleted, nor trashed... a copy of it resides in a place called Trash Can where mods have access.

Eugenio- You seem to be a stand up guy. Not to mention being helpfull when I've had questions in the past. I doubt that the moderator power trip will go to your head.

Deleted, trashed, copied to Trash Can. Makes no difference since nobody but moderators have access to the info. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

I still chuckle every time I think about getting banned due to a post in the "Convertible" section. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

the only reason I go to that board is for the "for sale" and the "Northwest forum" other than that I have found no useful info on that site. And when there is useful info.....it gets deleted because of bickering sponsors.
