QUOTE (trackbird @ Jun 19 2005, 16:10) Ok, what happened? All but 6 cars pulled off the track on the warm up lap in protest of the resolution to a tire issue Michelin had.... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Good solution guys....a group of second graders left to themselves could have come up with a better compromise..... good time for ISC to call F1 and get the race for WGI. only 100,000 fans? We get 140,000 for the cup race here and rumor is twice as many for the IRL race. F1 should rae at a REAL road course.

QUOTE (CMC #37 @ Jun 18 2005, 14:03) I know what you guys mean, I don't even go to Sears to watch the NASCAR race one hour away. Don't like crowds! Sears is a decent place to watch though. Let's face it, you can't get a better view of road racing than from the tv coverage! On the other hand I hate oval NASCAR coverage, they zoom in too much on the cars so you can't see who is doing what a lot of the time. As a racer you can only be impressed by big car big sound up close for so long! I am with ya on that Julie....I haven't gone to NASCRAP at Sears since my free Bud tent tickets dried up a few years ago....I also hate crowds...looks like I have been recruited to taking my wifes kid brother though with free tickets this time....I hate all the waiting for one dumb race....could they AT LEAST have some support races????? QUOTE (trackbird @ Jun 19 2005, 16:10) Ok, what happened? A mess....to paraphrase it. I'm amazed at the FIA's inability to compromise. As a side note, I would love to see F1 back at "The Glen". |

Considering how much it costs to put on a race, and that the entire customer base was just told to go f*ck themselves, would YOU front the money to promote a new date?
If it were my dollars, I'd have to think long and hard before investing in next year's Indy date. A lot of the market has to be repeat customers, and what's left is the people who enjoyed watching it on TV the previous year and want to see it for themselves. When you tell your entire market to piss off, its hardly time to think about expanding. |
