Yes....I would assume a LOT of weight savings.....

Mike (94bird) has been in contact, and knows more about the details....

I got an email back from him with a description. He said that this mod totally gets rid of your TTops. It is a 1 piece design. You have to get rid off all your weather stripping and the center divider. You also have to use spacers at the front to make sure it sits level. It looks killer! But I don't know if this is something I want to do to a car that still sees street time. If I had a dedicated ride I would definately be in on it. It would be like having a targa top for your car.

Price tag rolled in at 425 + 50 to ship in a wooden crate.

Weight with the 3mm coremat is 6.5lbs and the 2mm coremat is 4.5 pounds. thats a pretty huge chunk of weight taken off the car.

He also said that he could do a 2 piece design that could retain all of the stockcomponents but it would be a higher $ figure.

I also checked into what it would cost to have him duplicate the diffusor that he is running on his car.
