is it just me or are european import owners especially BMW owners just complete arogant asses and think they have the best damn car on the road? man what a bunch of jerks. sure it may be a silly question but it was an honest question. around here and maybe even everywhere, most 30k dollar millionaires run out and buy themselves a 325i right after they get their first job and think theyve got it made and are big time now. i'm not impressed. call me when you can afford a mercedes then well talk about making money

I was returning from cutting firewood one saturday afternoon, and stopped to look at a CL230K at a local Mercedes dealer. Raggedy old F-150, raggedy old Black Lab hanging out the window, wood, saws, wedges, etc in the bed. I looked like crap, and smelled the same.I really thought they would be closed, and I was looking for a car for my wife. A number of salesmen completely ignored me. I finally asked one what my truck would be worth on trade. Without flinching, he wanted to know if the dog was included. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rotf.gif) I hate it when they out "smart-ass" me.

BMW owners are dicks. I've actually discussed this at length with a good friend, also a BMW owner, over a nice Ashton and a bottle of Curtis syrah. Pretty much any group of automotive enthusiasts are clueless idiots, except for a small subset. I usually rag on Porsche owners for being slow and arrogant, but even there you get a part of them that are really quite nice, and know how to drive. There's a great email list for the E36 M3. People on that list are knowledgeable and helpful, and think that people on bimmerforums are idiots. And bimmerfest is even worse. F-body owners are rednecks from the south that have mullets. I have passed many an f-body on the track. And I've been de-moralized by a guy driving an e30 (older) M3 (he was actually my wife's AI co-driver for part of a season, and a very fast driver), and utterly annihalted by a guy driving a Honda Civic. And for what it's worth, I do think I have the best damned car on the road. Jason |

Most of the time the BMW guys we run with are decent guys. A few turds in the punch bowl, but there are plenty of them driving Vettes too.... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Now for Porsche drivers... I bet I haven't met more than 1 or 2 decent guys in the group. Talk about arrogant, dumb...but rich...this is definitely the Porsche guys. The old joke is so fitting for Porsche drivers: QUOTE What is the difference between a Porsche and a Porcupine? A Porsche has the pricks on the inside. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/nutkick.gif) |

Just like any group of people. You need to take a cross-section, and you will always find a mix of good, bad, normal, weird, etc.
