Well I just heard that I am one of the seven cars chosen to compete in the Real Street Eliminator. It is a autox, drag race, 100 mile drive, carshow that is taking place at norwalk raceway in ohio. So far the competition is a AMX, an 80 vette, a 66 corvair with a V8, a 90 mustang convert, a 71 mustang convert, and a 69 camaro.
I wanted to thank everyone here that voted for me, Now I have to get the car ready. I am in the middle of a 12 bolt install. then I need to get some practice dragracing. I also need to find a trailer I can borrow/rent as I would like to tow it incase of a breakdown at the strip.

Wow, that's really friken cool. Good luck w/ the event, sounds like a blast. As for the drag racing, you should be able to use some drag slicks w/ that 12 bolt and get the time down to low 12's or maybe 11's. Depending on the format of the event you can disconnect the front sway bar for better transfer, if it's allowable in the rules.

Congrates on making the cut. I would love to do something like that. Absolutely get ahold of some slicks and skinnies {if the rules and your front brakes will allow it}. With your mph, you should be able to make it to the 11s,, especially with the 12bolt! Knock out something like a 1.70 60ft and you will be there. If your running high 11s/low 12s and you should do good in the AutoX,,,, you should place well.

BTW, when is the event taking place? I ask because I might be willing to send my ET Streets out to ya if you can cover the shipping both ways. But most likely, you should be able to find a used set for fairly cheap. If you have to use the same tires in both events, try a set of Nitto 555Rs.

Wish you the best of luck and have fun!

I have a set of the new ET Street DR tires for the strip, the rules state DOT tires for both the autox and dragstrip. I also might get the nitrous kit for the car, seeing that they added it to my description on their own.

Well, it's settled then. If they think it has a nitrous kit, a nitrous kit it shall have. Hell, I'd jet it at 75 hp and be done with it (that is usually more than 75 hp in every case I've seen). If nothing breaks, you'll be "there".

Congratulations, bill! I know you'll do well. The car looks great already and the owner should do real well in the driving events.

Way to go!!!

(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) I'll buy you one when you get back!!
