Lonnie,

I'm not a small guy, but I have owned several magnum caliber rifles. I'm used to a beating. I once sat at the bench and fired 100 rounds of 300 Winchester Magnum in a morning (it was cool out so I could shoot, let it cool, shoot some more). I no longer have that rifle, but I do have a Remington 700 in 7mm mag right now that I like to dust off from time to time.

I also owned a .454 Casull. That is a handgun that will issue you a beating. The new 500 Smith and Wesson is far nicer to shoot than that Casull was.

As far as heavy recoil long guns the hardest hitting thing I've shot was a Mosin Nagant M91/30. It's a light bolt action gun, has a steel buttplate, and is chambered in 7.62x54R for those that don't know. I actually kinda liked the recoil from it, but it was kinda hard.

I used to have a S&W 686 6" in .357 mag, but it wasn't that harsh since the 686 is a big frame. My XD .40 is nothing as far as recoil goes and my 1911 isn't that bad since it's so heavy. I carry Winchester Ranger .40 180 grain in the XD and Winchester Ranger .45 230 grain +P in the 1911.

I shot a S&W Scandium frame .357 mag. It weighed 10 ounces (11?) and was loaded with full house 158 grain loads (595 ft lbs of muzzle energy). It snapped upward so violently that the trigger guard hit my first knuckle on my trigger finger hard enough that I thought it would bruise. That thing was far worse than anything else I've ever fired.

BTW Kevin, I found some more reasonably priced options for rifle (limited in length though).

The real question for everyone is who will be the faster Wasted Nitto Express driver this weekend? And do you want me to stop and pick up the race tires Sunday morning?

You can, or we (I?) can just toss them on Sunday night (unless it looks like rain, maybe we do want you to pick them up).

As for the faster driver on the Nitto express....I'm hoping for an open course....

I'm pulling for Neil. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'm hoping for a tight course to limit Lonnie's horse power advantage. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I've got more power than both you all-I just don't have the driver part. I just vote for narrow gates to pinch those 335's.

Sunday night? You mean Saturday night, right.

And any course will do!

Banned for that. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Gees, I thought I would have to at least tease you about not being able to keep up with a little under-powered 305 TBI car. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

In the last 3 events I've ran I've made 20 runs. THREE of those were clean runs. ALL others had cones. Just realized this today.

I'm not changing anything though. Hitting cones just means I'm pushing the car. It's not like I'm plowing dead square into them. Hell half the time I didn't even feel/hear it

And FWIW I hope the course is really tight too. A tight course has more technical areas. Which means more areas to pick up time. (OR TO LOSE TIME)

JUST DON'T RAIN. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif)

Odyssey PC680 Battery and 1LE fog light delete panels are due here Friday.

Lonnie how did you secure your battery? Aluminum flat stock and angle?

Yeah I just made a mount out of some scrap aluminum.

It's probably a bit heavy but it's damn secure. I'll probably drill a bunch of holes in it to lighten it.

I could come down and run SM2 as well (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Hell, the more the merrier. Come on down. You already saw my excuses (they are stacked in the garage, they used to be Nittos), but I won't let that stop me.....

In lieu of a frrax.com track day, we can just have the frrax.com autocross meet. Where we all converge on my local group and try to wreck the yearly points competition in about 3 classes.....

Good, we expect to see you!

I agree with Kevin. The more the merrier. My season has been blown to pieces by work commitments anyway. The only satisfaction I can get is to try and beat Kevin. :drive:

Go ahead Aaron.

I'll just run ESP. And looks like there is quite a few in ESP.

Anyone know how the guy in the EVO is?

Reasonably fast (on a local level) unless he hits cones (which he was doing a lot, I'm not sure about recent events though).
