Well folks....
The car's an absolute blast to drive when I do drive it but that's been more and more infrequent that I drive it so I think its time for it to go to a new home. I originally bought this car about 2 to 2 1/2 years ago to autox in Street Mod locally but I only managed to actually run it at three events. The car's fast and competitive. If memory serves me right at the first event Jason Swindle took 3rd and I managed a 4th (bah, beaten in my own car!) and a 3rd at the other event. At the JGT event's autocross at Cal Speedway in Dec '04. I held fast time of the day for Saturday and despite not running on Sunday, it was still good for 3rd fastest overall out of a bit over 100 cars. All the engine work for the heads & cam were done 10 - 12k mi ago. The car's been autocrossed three times and hot lapped at Cal Speedway one day. The rest of the mileage is all street miles. It makes 411 rwhp and 370 ftlbs at the rear wheels through a cat and a full catback on 91 octane CA pump gas. The dyno sheet is avail here: http://para.noid.org/gallery/94z28/94Z_dyno . Tuning was done by Jason Swindle at Unbalanced Engineering (www.unbalancedengineering.com). Despite the big'ish cam the car is completely streetable. I commuted to work and back (21 mi each way ) in stop and go traffic on nearly a daily basis with it and never had any problems. I have not drag raced it (not my cup of tea, sorry!) so I don't have any timeslips. More pictures of the car available here : http://para.noid.org/gallery/94z28 Note: the CCW wheels are not included with the car. Asking $7500 - I'm located in the SoCal area - snicko@noid.org is the best way to reach me Details on the car: 1994 hardtop Z28, red with black hardtop roof 109k mi on the short block. Engine and suspension work done 10 - 12k mi ago Chassis & Suspension: Revalved Koni double adjustable shocks GLobal West Coilovers Ride height adjustable rear springs Global West Tracklink Unbalanced Engineering PHR relocation kit Unbalanced Engineering PHR LCA Relocation brackets 1LE front control arms (stiffer front bushings) 32mm front swaybar 21mm rear swaybar 17" x 9" 5 spoke SS wheels with Kumho Ecsta MX's Tubular SFC's Brakes: Baer Alcon 4 piston calipers front with 13 x 1.25" rotors Stock rear calipers & rotors Engine: Advanced Induction ported LT1 heads, with Isky double springs good to .600 lift, oversized valves, titatinum keepers and locks (Flow #'s avail) Comp Cams non self aligning rockers with guide plates & 1 pc pushrods 7/16" rockers studs Comp Cams R lifters Ultradyne 230/238 .565/.565 112lsa cam Port matched intake manifold Double roller timing chain 58mm billet Holley throttle body K&N FIPK intake Ceramic coated Mac shorty headers & y-pipe SLP 2 on the left 3" stainless steel catback Flowmatched 30# injectors Adj fuel pressure regulator Walbro 255lph intank fuel pump Meziere HD waterpump Vented Opti Underdrive pulley MSD 6AL Lt4 valve covers (Clear the widebody rockers and don't leak) Drivetrain: Trans freshened ~2 - 3k mi ago B&M shifter SLP billet steel flywheel (11lbs) McCleod pressure plate with dual friction single disc clutch - ~2k mi ago 1LE alum driveshaft Choice of 3.42 (T2R) or 3.73 (HD Torsen) rear ends Interior: Rear seat removed (Sorry, don't have it anymore) Cloth manual front seats 98+ center console Pioneer headunit with Polk speakers Autometer shift light & Oil temp gauge Misc: Hawker SLA battery relocated to the back seat LT1 edit Oil temp gauge New GM alternator ~5k mi ago New GM brake master cylinder ~5k mi ago Fresh plugs and wires ~1k mi ago Compression tested 1k mi ago (all #'s in the 185 - 190 range) Included but not installed: 4pt autopower rollbar Complete working AC system. Just needs an afternoon to re-install. 3" exhaust dump (bolts in place of the cat) Momo Street Racer seat with bracket and slider The Bad: The airbag and ABS lights will come on when the engine's started. Cycling the ignition clears it. ABS works fine when the ABS lamp stays out at engine start though. Rear main seal leaks slightly (I think this is normal isn't it?) The nose and hood have the typical pitting that you'd expect to see out of a car with this # of miles on the chassis. I'd give the body a 7 out of 10 because of that. The tires probably have about 3 - 5K left on them This post has been edited by NickS: Aug 31 2005, 06:01 AM |

Nick, I told Chris that she should buy the car and see if she can't drop the drivetrain and rear end into the Beretta.
Chris tells me that you're replacing the Camaro street car with a Prius. I think that's great that you're thinking about the environment! What's that item you have bolted up to the water pump? Are you overclocking the pump or something? Jason |
