... with the Tiger Racing Speed World Challenge GT Corvette. Spent yesterday helping Chris with some of the labor it usually takes two to complete. Here we've completed putting the powertrain together on the rack. (IMG:http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/5/web/245000-245999/245657_18_full.jpg) Here we've lowered the car onto the assembly. (IMG:http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/5/web/245000-245999/245657_19_full.jpg) Now there's an engine in the engine compartment. I guess I got it pretty bad. I got up early, drove for 2.5 hrs to their shop where I worked til about 6 that evening before driving home. Had pizza for lunch and talked about some of the other teams progress and positions. Paid? Nope. I'm just lucky to have the opportunity (and ability) to help crew, get in with full credentials to some of the fastest tracks in the country and to see up close (and loud) some of the best talent out there for both the ALMS and Speed World Challenge. |

You and me both, brother ... 5 hours of winshield time and a 10-12 hour shift in between makes for a long day ... |

to me, it's worth the effort when you can see it perform. The teams first year and Tom finished 'Rookie of the Year'. This year we're hoping for more, even with the expanded field of cars (and drivers) in GT. Here's the '03 car at Sebring last March. (IMG:http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/5/web/245000-245999/245657_22_full.jpg) The '04 car will look similar, since all the performance and handling mods are under the skin. |
