OK, I just got a new job that will make me get a new car. I'm wanting to keep my car, but I may have to sell. Anyway, I've got no idea what these cars go for, since the price can't be determined by Kelley Blue Book or NADA.

2000 Trans Am WS-6, M6
Red w/ black interior
Engine
Lid (don't know what brand)
Straight bellows
LS6 intake
Hooker LT coated headers (Stage 8 locking bolts)
Mufflex y-pipe (dual 3" into 4" collector)
Dynomax 4" bullet muffler (exits before rear axle)
Suspension
Koni SA front shocks
Bilstein 3rd gen revalved rears (reavalved by Sam)
GC coilovers w/ 500lb srpings up front
BMR 32mm front swaybar
BMR 21mm rear swaybar
BMR adjustable PHR w/ replaced QA1 rod ends
Wheels, tires, brakes
4 AFS 17x11 ZR-1 replicas (needs tires, Hoosiers are corded)
4 stock 16x8 Camaro wheels (for the street; need tires badly)
ARP wheel studs
Hawk HP+ front pads
Other stuff
Red Corbeau Forza front seats, manual movement
Drivers RJS 5 pt harness, latch type
Lou's Short Stick (shortens the shifter throw)
Hurst shifter (the stock one)
12 disc changer
Floormats custom embroidered w/ red birds
Hidden Hitch (it really is hidden, you can't see it unless the ball is attached)

I know I'm missing some stuff. It runs very well. It has 55k miles - mostly highway. Paint is in good condition, excpet for a few chips on the front bumper from cones.

That's about it. I've seen cars like this go for as little as $8000, or as much as $15000. Which is closer?

Well, putting some of the stock stuff back in/on (ie: seats, springs, etc) and getting a set of stock WS6 wheels would really expand your market.......as it sits, you're limiting yourself.

I don't know how the LA economy is doing right now but with above done in TX I believe you could get $16,000 for it.

Good luck.

Hmmmm . . . may give it to a guy in Austin for a while. See what he can do with it.

Unfortunately, I really don't feel like getting stock stuff to put back (though, you are right - it would expand my market). The car is just perfect for racing and street driving, in equal amounts.

Sure, somewhere. I expect you mean traditional glamour shots. I can take some if you're really interested. For now, check out the results from this year. As you can see, my car is one of the most photographed of all. It simply looks the best, sounds the best, and is one of the top 5 at every event. For some reason, the forum doesn't like to link to the results pictures directly. You can simply click the links, if you want.

I don't know. I didn't even get a nibble on this one at 18,500 and it's a 2002 (book on the car alone was 17,000+). I'm not saying it's impossible, but these cars just don't seem to be moving, at least not for any real money.

Don't I wish. Heck, I'd be happy with ANY type of sports car. But, I think that I'm going to have to get something like a 2003 Mercedes C240 or Cadillac CTS. My new job may require me to drive around clients and stuff.

If I have to trade it in (dealership) - anyone want a set of 17x11s?

.....you're demonstrating my point. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Cars being sold that are modified loose the interest of a large percent of the buying public. Add to that the gas prices, and it doesn't surprise me that you're having a hard time.

Most people see a "modded" car as an abused car and want to have no part of buying someone elses "problems".

In this case, there's added value for the car being a WS6 with low milage and if he were to put it somewhat back to stock it would greatly help his selling potential and I believe that he could get around $16,000, in TX, IMO
........obviously, LA would be a completely different story.

I thought you were saying it would sell for that in Texas "as is". Yea, I considered stripping mine, then I just decided it was easier to keep it.

Dealership ? ? (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

You might see what they'll offer you(probably around $13K) and put it in a add out for a short bit to see if you can get a little more.

Correction to my above statement......
With having smaller rims, racing seats and longer wheel studs, I think that the dealer is REALLY going to "low ball" you.
