My wife is halfway through chemotherapy, so we're throwing a surprise party Saturday for her called the "Let your hair down... or out... party" One of the things I'd like to display is a gallery of my wife with wacky hair styles.

So could the photoshop pros help me out with this? I tried to get a photo of her hairless, but that plan got thwarted and she's not feeling well at the moment. So it's really a challenge now. Below are a few photos I found on my PC.

Some Ideas include:
1)Purple Punk hair
2)Afro
3)Bozo
4)Beehive - Marge Simpson
5)Pink
6)Wilma Flintstone
7)Princess Leaia (spelling?)
8)Mullet
9)18th century white wig
10)Face superimposed in Mona Lisa
11)Trump hair
12)Alfalfa (Little Rascals)
13)Elvira
14)Jasmine (Aladdin)
15)Little Mermaid
16)Einstein
17)Michael Jackson

I'm VERY appreciative of any help I can get on this. I'm not asking for perfection either, just something to have fun with.

Regards,
Scott

Scott,

My friend runs a company that makes software where you can apply different hairstyles to pictures etc.

I remember them having a demo where you could upload pictures and edit them easily. Check out the site:

It sounds like a fun project and a great idea!

I've made up a list of the ten things to not say to a breast cancer patient, a 6 foot banner with the party slogan, ordered up smiley face balloons and created a poster timeline so people can see how much she's gone through. I also requested that all attendees where goofy wigs. When I take her over, I've got it set up that the song "Hair" will play.

It should be a good time and a real lift for her.

Well, what are you waiting for? Post the list. I'm sure Denice will get a kick out of it. Rude, tacky, silly, defiant humor is a big morale booster.

The cancer center that Denice gets her treatments at has a bunch of winged pigs hanging from the ceiling.

After her second surgery, we joked about trying to find a taxidermist. Imagine the "Billy Bass" with a tassel pastie.

My father "customized" a Hooters ballcap for her.

And so on. Thumbing your nose irreverently at cancer is a good thing (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Sean, that's awesome you and your wife were able to make the most of it and keep the mood light. The oncology staff is amazed by my wife's attitude and say it's like no other they've seen. There's not a lot one can do, so as I see it, you can make the most of it and still live as much as you can, or you can live your life moping and solving nothing in the process.

I had to tone down the list. I've already left some friends in stunned silence after making a tasteless/morbid joke that only someone going through this could make. Plus, there will be parents and nieces present, so I really had to crank her down and it's not as entertaining as I first imagined.

TEN THINGS NOT TO SAY, (the toned down low-offense version)

"You know, you're really lucky, I've always wanted implants myself"

"I'm so sorry to hear, you know my cousin died from cancer last year"

"So I bet you're saving money on hair cuts"

"Don't worry, there are people so much worse off than you"

"At least it's not terminal, right?"

"Is this some sort of play for attention?"

"Better you than me"

"I know exactly how you must feel"

"So I bet this cleared up that dandruff problem, eh?"

"Yeah, I never liked your hair style anyway"

(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/2thumbs.gif)

"Don't worry, I had Stage 0 myself and I've been FINE."

"Wow, you don't even have to diet anymore."

"What an unusual tan." (radiation, if that's on the agenda)

"Couldn't you have done something different?"

And for the spouse:
"So, how are YOU doing?"

I'd still like to see the offensive version (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

A friend of mine had breast cancer and was losing her hair due to radiation/chemo treatments. She had a bunch of girlfriends over and they shaved her head. Then they applied a "fake" tattoo of a snake that went up her neck and the side of her head. She put on some biker clothes and they all went out partying. She said they had a blast with all the looks from the yuppie, stuck up State Farmers they ran into at the bars.

She also said she got a few wigs from friends and that the long blonde one got the biggest response from her husband! Needless to say she had fun with her illness and is doing fine today.

I think it's awesome that you and your wife are able to keep such a light mood about this.

Being a 'shopper myself, I'll make a few contributions. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) To be continued...

My skills with The GIMP are generally limited to exposure correction. This is my only "success" so far. I seem to be having trouble hosting large files at the moment, and the movement in the background doesn't compress well. I had to drop the jpeg quality to 50 to make it work, but I can email the high quality version if you don't have a size limit on attachments.

It was actually my connection being flaky. It went out right after that post.

Here's a link to the pics: http://www.extremelysensual.com/pics/hair%20pics

I'm definitely not an artist, but hopefully these help ya out. I did two off your list, then one I thought of (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

If no one else comes through, I'll try to do a few more for ya tomorrow night. Good luck with the party!

A big thanks to everyone who has helped out so far.

By the way, this is her at the last chemo, celebrating the finish of #4 with a cigarette. The candy kind of course....
