As the subject says, anybody have an interest in a low, low, low mileage LT4 or LS1? The place I work for now (Mid Atlantic Engines) has a source who can get GM surplus and test engines. These are motors that usually have only a handful of miles ... or maybe even zero! We've sold common stuff such as late-model S10 and Saturn engines, and we have a couple Pontiac Vibe (aka Toyota) engines in the warehouse now. But our source says he can get, um, interesting stuff like LS1's, and he has two complete LT4 drivetrains.

If you're interested, shoot me a e-mail at patred@xecu.net , and I can check on pricing.

Pat

I've got a Datsun 260Z that I'm putting an LT1 & T56 into but an LT4 would be fun. I can always sell my LT1 so let me know what the LT4 would go for. Let me know what all comes with it as well or is it just a long block.

Damnit Pat!!

How sweet it would be to get one of those LT4's.

Oh well. Iv'e got two things working against me.
1) an already rebuilt LT1
2) NO MONEY

Maybe this could be passed on to any of the ESPers thinking of illegally piecing together an LT4

That's why I posted here. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) If you have a few pounds of crack, you dangle it in front of crack addicts and let the bidding begin.

I've gotten a couple private e-mails already about the LT4's, so I'll let those guys know and keep everyone updated here. I'll check on the LS6 motors, too. Hopefully, the price is competitive. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Any other requests for late-model GM stuff. No LT1s are available, though, but we do sell rebuilt long blocks in those flavors ... have an Impy/Roadmaster LT1 on the shelf now.

Well this is kinda bad news. Apparently, our source for this GM stuff doesn't have any LT4's available. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I called today to get pricing info, and the guy (we'll just call him "Deepthroat") gave me our cost and went on to say he had two complete LT4 drivetrains from a '93 Camaro and Firebird. Sooo, it looks like they are actually LT1 drivetrains. Both have under 30K miles. Sorry to disappoint ... I was disappointed myself.

So if there's any interest, we have two '93 LT1 drivetrains available for $3,600 each. Depending on where you live, there may be a shipping fee. Each includes engine, trans, computer, wiring harness, accessories, and each has under 30,000 miles (hey, I drove a 290,000-mile LT1 to work today, so I know there's still lots of life left in those!). No warranty included (we sell JDM stuff all the time to the import crowd with no warranty). IIRC, the '93 6-speeds had a more desireable gearing for autocross, so I might be able to see if we can sell the transmissions seperately if there is interest.

On the LS1 side, there is a "reclaimed" (that's a technical/legal term for "new" (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ) LS1 out of a '98 Corvette with zero miles for $5,000. It's just the engine but includes exhaust manifold and all the intake stuff (manifold, injectors, fuel rail, plenum ... and probably throttle body but I'll have to check and make sure).

Other interesting stuff Deepthroat has are basically complete Corvettes minus the frame and body. Engine, trans, axles, steering rack, rear ends, wheels, etc all in one complete package. Anything from a '99 Corvette to an '04 Z06! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Unfortunately, he won't sell individual pieces because he can get good coin for the entire packages from kit-car dealers (there are some kits that just bolt right into the Corvette chassis). But I have pricing info if you really want to know (be prepared to spend an easy 5 figures!).

Anyway, sorry the LT4 stuff didn't come through. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) If you have any interest in the other stuff, let me know.

I plan on converting my 96 Z28 from an automatic to a 6 speed. I'll need all of the parts to convert it. The local F-Body bone yard want about $1,500 for everything. I mean everything.

I'll sell one of my GM Raceshop Corvette LS6 complete motors for $4,200. It was shipped to me in 2001 making a 385 hp unit. It is complete in all ways from water pump to clutch and intake to oil and oil pan. Spark Boxes, plug wire, injectors, fuel rails etc.. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) New still on the crate.

I figured somebody would have an LS6/LS1 cheaper ... I was figuring/hoping the LT4's would be available more so than the LS1's and LS6's. And as Lonnie pointed out, a better alternative for those guys trying to piece together an ESP-legal LT4 F Body.

I guess I'll have to sell that LS1 to some shop who just had a gray hair pull in with an LS1 Corvette with rod nock. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Or maybe somebody still wants a vanilla LT1 or "new" LS1.
