My birthday gift.....

(IMG:http://images.amazon.com/images/P/1560915269.01._AA240_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg)

Now who wants to interpret / translate / explain this damn thing to me? (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Hopefully some of it will sink through my thick skull. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

put it under your pillow and learn through osmosis.

I wish I took the vehicle dynamics course in college instead of the flight dynamics course. Not that flight dynamics wasn't interesting, but I'm not exactly racing aeroplanes. I'll be down in AR for the Pro & NT.

Started thumbing through it tonight. This book makes me feel stupid in ways the C. Smith books never did. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Osmosis you say, huh? Hmmmm....

Then I'll see you there. I already have a room reserved for both weekends.

Yeah, it is very text book like. I've made it roughly halfway through chapter 5 before I put it down for a while (months.. maybe a year now). I remember reading the tire chapter and wondering when it was going to end.

It is a good read, even if you have to read it 3 or 4 times to get it. Chapter 5 is a lot like my system dynamics class that really screwed with my mind. Looks like I'm re-reading the first half of 5 again.

My g/f ordered RCVD for me. I think I'll skip Chapter 5. I'm taking my system dynamics final Thursday-(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) .

I'm pretty sure I'm incapable of either understanding that book or focusing enough to comprehend it. More power to you!

System Dynamics was one of my favorite classes back in college. The professor may have had something to do with it.

I just couldn't understand system dynamics when I took it, at least now I have a different book explaining it. Maybe it will help, maybe it wont. I'll have to look at it better once this semester is over.

The book really is written by engineers for engineers, I was hoping it would be a little simpler to understand. I have the 'solutions manual' for it too so maybe if I have time it will wrap it all together nicely.

Good luck with the finals, mine start Thursday the 15th and end the 21st. A whole 3 days before xmas (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

That's my problem. I'm not an engineer. Just an inquisitive dullard.

But I do hang out / work with some engineer types and I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I've been trying that trick ever since a started college...but it still hasn't worked! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif)

We obviously didn't have the same professor. It is really amazing how some people are allowed to teach.

The guy who taught me system dynamics couldn't answer questions that the class asked. We think he memorized the material before every class, should anything go wrong he would say something like "I'll look into it later" or sit there and think about it for a while then move on to something else.

The guy I have now for our senior projects wants our reports written EXACTLY his way, and his way only. When we describe something, he can never understand it and wants it rewritten. He even described how someone's project exactly works, but said he couldn't understand it in the report. A few times he gave us a lecture about how we don't explain enough, BEFORE he read anything. I had to stop him and say "its in there, just read it!!!" Talk about frustrating! The whole time you're sitting across the table dodging the spit shooting out of his mouth. He also refuses to believe he is hearing is going south. He showed us a video with the volume at max and someone from another class closed our door! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rant.gif) Some of these professors just don’t think, they assume we don’t know anything (or assume we know everything), go off on their tangents, and wind up not teaching anything.

Rant off.
