Guys and Gals,

I am trying to research rear alignment values on 3rd and 4th gen cars over time. What I am hoping to be able to get is the rear alignment specs from every f-body shop manual from 1982 through 2002. This may be the only place on the planet (other than some magical GM library in Detroit) where this may be possible.

For example, here is the page from the 1995 F-Body GM Shop Manual detailing the alignment specs for the 1995 model year:
http://shbox.com/1/alignment_specs.jpg

If you have a shop manual and are willing to contribute, please add the rear specs from your manual to this thread (assuming the year that you have isn't already posted).

Thanks,

Keith

The 1993 mannual states the same as the 95 you posted with the exception being that max rear camber is listed as 0.6 not 1.6.

I could only find rear caster and thrust angle in my 2001 manual (the set of three), Kevin. Maybe I was still at a coffee defecit, so if you find a rear camber spec please post the page number

The 2002 manual shows rear toe between -0.3 to 0.3.
Thrust angle -0.25 to 0.25.

I didn't see anything about camber.

I don't have a GM Techline DVD manual (and I don't know how to make copies (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ) that doesn't list the alignment specifications for 1998-2005 (2002 in case of camaro).

copy & paste was too much effort, and forum doesn't take html so

PDF linky: 1998 to 2002 alignment specs

as you'll see in the linky I posted these rear camber numbers were eliminated (as in the mention of rear camber) in 2001 and 2002 manuals.

Hmmm, in 2001 they also reduced the nominal front caster and increased the rear thrust angle tolerance range (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

That's strange, considering my 2001 is a caster freak with more than most (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I have created a table containing the rear camber specs by year using the information that we have already seen in this post so far.

It's 252k jpg file. Anyone willing to host it so I can include it here?

As new information becomes available, I will update it and again make it available.

Keith you just want rear setting only? I have every setting from 82-current. Just going to take some time to copy it.

Send an e-mail to Eric. Since it's usefull racing information, there shouldn't be any problem putting it on autoxphotos.com. He'll give you instructions on how to do it yourself.

John,

I am interested in what GM was saying regarding rear camber. It seems that there was an evolution in the specs for essentially the same part and I am trying to make sense of it.

I am not sure what form your information is but I would be glad to type the information in if it is in an e-mailable form.

Keith this info is from alldata here at work. The program does not allow me to cut and paste info. So I have to handy copy all the info. I've got everything from 82 and up, some of the info might be repeated but it just takes me some time to do this. I've been busy with my other project at nights, spare time has been hard to come buy as of late.

This isn't time-critical so don't knock yourself out.

Here is what I have so far in text form:

Model Year Rear Camber “Set” Rear Camber “Check”
1982 None specified -3° to +5°
1983
1984
1985
1986
1987
1988
1989
1990
1991
1992 None specified None specified
1993 +/- 0.6° +/- 0.6°
1994 +/- 0.6° +/- 1.6°
1995 +/- 0.6° +/- 1.6°
1996
1997 +/- 0.6° +/- 1.6°
1998 +/- 0.6° +/- 1.6°
1999 +/- 0.6° +/- 0.6°
2000 +/- 0.6° +/- 0.6°
2001 None specified None specified
2002 None specified None specified

RATS! I made them all line up nice and it stripped out the duplicate spaces...
