So I have a coupon to get a free 11x14 and free 16x20 that came with a camera purchase and will expire before I take anymore photos like these. Here are some of my better photos, but I can't decide which are the best 2. I thought maybe some outside opinions could help me, because of course, I like them all.

i must agree that you do have a very nice catalog of photographs there. picking just two is ridiculous.

i'm leaning towards:
loch lake trail
zion n.p. (scouts overlook)

...good luck narrowing it down! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

No car action shots? (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I'd pick one of these two:

Dinosaur N.M.
Creek near Moraine Park

Thunderstorm in Nevada, just as impressive as in person, and of course Bonneville Salt Flats!

I honestly can't decide... but I do want to know what kinda equipment you used. The coloring of those pictures really pop right out. They've got some great definition.

Especially like the thunderstorm! Nice work.

We were on vacation this year and were heading north on 93 Alt after visiting Great Basin N.P. and this little cloud burst pops up over those mountains and is squeezed between us and the mountains. It looked as weird as it does in that photo, so I pulled off and snapped a quick shot.

Just a Canon A80 4 megapixel camera for most. Believe me, for every nice shot, I have a dozen over/underexposed ones in a folder. I don't know what I'm doing, but I learned that dinking around with the manual settings netted me much better photos. Like the Salt Lake sunset; I bet that took 15 shots to match real life to the photo. I honestly thought I was going to lose the light before I got the real colors captured.

It does have shortcomings though, I added photos: "Colorado River E. of Moab" "Zion N.P. @ Springdale" and "Sunset near Arches N.P." to show some issues I've had with "graininess," especially in low-light.

The one big thing people overlook is tripods. I have a little "Ultrapod" that I got at REI that's all of 3 inches tall. Works wonders for clarity and especially for twilight shots.

I added the "Near Paonia, CO" shot to show how much the tripod helps. I was in a hurry to take the photo, but for the life of me, I couldn't stand still enough to get a clear photo with the slow shutter needed to capture the twilight.

The one that really got me was "Maah Daah Hey". How many pictures do you see like that from how many thousands of people? All of them look bland, flat, and boring. For some reason when I opened it up, my eye wasn't captured by the cyclists, but I saw the depth of field in the sky, the hills, the grass in front of you.

Kevin, I still say it's a black magic.

I like McClure Pass and Colorado River E. of Moab

I like the inclusive; River bank lusciousness, Desert Rock, and Snow covered mountains in one shot.

Great photos!
