I'm trying to sell my old F-150. Great truck, but hard on fuel. Selling ONLY because I bought my Dad's Dodge diesel. I'm asking 3 grand which may seem a little high for an'84, but it's a V8, 4x4, auto, AC, PW,PL, etc, etc. And all the stuff that breaks on a "great deal" has been fixed on this one. So far I've had two "I'd buy it but I don't have the money", one "It's just what my son is looking for, I'll be right back", one "my dad had a truck JUST LIKE THIS. Biggest POS we ever owned", one "I'm going to get the money and will back tomorrow", and one "will you finance it?". I got so fed up, I pulled the "for sale" sign out and parked it around back. I must attract them. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif)

I'm sure that alot of people go through this, especially with an older vehicle.........after all, everyone wants the $200 vehicle that doesn't exsist.

Take a break and then go back at it, good luck (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Try selling a race car. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I finally sold my dirt track car this past weekend, but I had tons of stupid questions and tire kickers.

Also I got those scam emailers too. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rant2.gif)

If you're patient, you'll get what you want for it. I sold my 98 S10 ZQ8 on autotrader in about 2 weeks time. And I got top dollar for it. But until it actually sold, I got all the same stuff. Couple people wanted to trade other cars for it. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Some said it was exactly what they were looking for, then I never heard from them again. There were a few that wanted me to hold it till they could sell their car first to get the money. Yeah, it's frustrating. Then one time I showed it to a kid who couldn't even test drive it because he wasn't old enough to get his licence. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/bs.gif) But the kid came back a week later with his parents, and they bought it. So you never know who the potential buyer is going to be.

Yeah, I'll try again this weekend. This is a damn good truck, so I got a little tired of the BS concerning the cruise control not working, the gas mileage and so forth. I was in the middle of painting inside the house, (which I absolutely HATE!), and kept getting these jokers at my door.

Try getting your wife to do the selling. Not saying you look shady or anything, just certain people think they can get something over on a women seller (and/or they are honest looking .... ). Just let her know the lowest you will go and let her go to town.

Mine has sold everyone one of mine since we have been married. She even sold one right from under me while I was driving it home from work (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/cool2.gif) .

Its funny my last comment on every car going, has been if you ever consider selling it please call me - I'd be interested in buying it back. Not one has ever came back.

The truck sold today. My wife was brokering the deal while I was on my way home from the "Asphalt Angels" car show in Richmond. It is a good truck, and I will miss it.
