As the subject states, I did a very bad thing this weekend. I went to a track day on my bike. I had one heck of a good time. I went to Talladega Gran Prix Raceway and it was the first time in around 15 years that I've been on the track with a bike. Heck, I've only been back on the bike since last fall. Times were not spectacular but not bad, I started in novice and was bumped up to intermediate before the end of the day. My best at Tally back in the "old" days was high 1:05s on a FZR 400 {50 RWHP and a weight of 400lbs}. Best Sunday was a 1:10.14 on a bike that has 140 RWHP and a weight of 430lbs. Hmm,,,, only need to pick up four seconds! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) One excuss is that the track has changed a bit and I've heard it's slower now, just don't figure it should be that much different.
O-well, I''l be back over to Tally the 22nd of May in my car. Think I can turn 1;11s in the Firebird? |

I used to love joyrides on my bro-in-laws Suzuki Hayabusa; 165 hp/200 mph stock.
I'm sure the Firebird won't perform anything like the bike, but just remember you can't put a roll cage on a bike. This post has been edited by Cal: Mar 27 2006, 03:04 PM |

The thing that is so bad is that for the cost of one track day in the car, I could probably do around five or so on the bike. Sometimes it would be good to have a Miata but then it would be near as much fun I reckon.
