1985 Camaro Z28
350 GM HO Crate engine
Edlebrock Intake
A4
Approximately 100,xxx miles on odometer.

Some background info is needed here. I bought this car this spring locally in North Dallas. It has been a TX car its' whole life. The young man that owned the car entered the Navy several years ago and it was sitting in the driveway of a rather nice house. Apparently, the Mom of the house had enough and it had to go. At some point after the son left, the passenger's side window was broken and the head unit was jacked. When that happened it sparked a small fire in the passenger side door speaker. There is little eveidence of fire damage except to the door panel. There is no smoke smell in the car.

I bought the car for the Crate Motor which the Dad said had less than 6,000 miles on it. He said they had it professionally installed but could provide no receipts. The engine starts readily and we drove it home approximately 20 miles with no problems. The brakes are mushy and I have done NOTHING to the car since picking it up. The paint is badly oxidized, the interior 'soft' pieces are pretty well stripped out. The car does not have a current registration or inspection. Title is good (according to Carfax) with no accidents or problems. Body is good and straight--no rust.

I would think this car would make a great track car for someone. My original intention was to yank the engine and put it in my '87 IROC. I have since decided to keep the 305 TPI in the '87 so this vehicle is surplus.

I am more than a little hesitant to aggressively market this car. It has set up for quite sometime and I have invested zero time inspecting it. It *appears* to be a decent piece of machinery based on my prior experience and knowledge but who the hell knows???

I am willing to turn it loose for $1200 which is less than I paid for it. I am just not comfortable trying to get more out of it. I am open to trades of anything Third or Fourth Gen related, firearms, tools, shop equipment or good ole' dead presidents. I would also trade it for labor/services on the ORR car. I need the current roll bar modified to a full roll cage, a fuel cell and passenger compartment divider added to the car this winter. With the price of gas going down, I would be willing to deliver it PREPAID within 100 miles of Dallas,TX.
