I am a NOOB, thanks for having me. I have a 94 Z28, I need some brake inlet ducts that will closely fit the foglight holes in the bumber....I have looked on the net.....hole is 7.5 inches wide and 3 inches tall.

I think that I rectangular NACA duct is around 8x4. You would be able to mount that on the backside of the hole easily. May have to cut a little.

Bingo...that's what I did once. A little trimming is needed, but its an easy job. You can actually slide the duct in from the front and screw/rivet it to the bumper cover plastic. Its easier to mount that way, though it doesnt look as neat.

My problem is that I want to use the little holes underneath the turn indicators on my TA. They have a perfect space behind them for hose and are right near the wheels. They are a weird shape, though. Don't know how I'll do it - but it'll get done somehow. I'm also going to put a little "wall" on the outside edge of the hole to force air into the hole instead of sliding along the bumper (since it's on the extreme corners of the bumper).

.... also wondering does anyone know of a source to get ducts that go in place of the rectangular headlights on a 3rd gen car (82-92)...
Pretty much a rectangle duct that tapers into a round hose connection.... it seems like I saw them a few years ago but haven't seen any in awhile TIA ~DaVe |

Doing a quick search on google turns up a ton of results (you should try it) a few of which are these, a mix of NACA ducts and regular rectangular ducts in various sizes

Why wouldnt you use those gigantic round foglight holes?? I almost almost want to go get a new nose/hood/fenders JUST so I can use those!!

I'm trying to stick to a "master plan". I never do, but this time I'm really trying. I'm going to make a splitter for the front. That will make me a front breather. To be a front breather, I think I'm going to need to use both the license plate hole (after cutting it out) and the fog light holes. Then, I'll use the side holes for brakes. Then, I may use the passenger headlight hole for an oil cooler. After that, I can't think of anything else I'd need to put up front.
Of course, like I said, I rarely stick to a plan! |

Matthew, I have a very cool idea for brake duct's on your model of car. You can run it from the lower hole straight into the frame rail to get past the tire then run it from the frame rail straight to the brakes. No hoses to get rubbed on or scraped. You won't even see them unless you look behind the wheel. These are super clean. I planned to do them on my car, but never did as the brakes just don't get hot enough.

I do not think the vents under the parking lights get much air. I think the fog light holes would be a better source of air.

Your probably right about the fog holes getting more air, but you have to cut holes in the metal bumper and then routing it is more difficult. I would consider using the larger turn signal opening and then mounting a new smaller light in the smaller opening.
