It's at Ripken Stadium (as usual), next Sunday. http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/...12697013006264 is the event details page. Anyone else?

Try http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frmEve...912697013006264 instead (full link) or go to the Autocrossers Inc homepage at http://www.autocrossersinc.org instead. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Lots of F-bodies in the top index positions (well, with the exception of that pesky 350Z in the top spot). I'll post the results when they are available, but it was certainly ESP/FS heavy in the top ten. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

8 of the top ten spots are F-bodies, and 9 of the top ten are pony cars!

... only 4 runs for the day? If you like to travel to you have to make it to an NNJR or Motorsports NE autocross, we usually get 8 runs. This past weekend we had a non-points event so it was run like a test and tune, I wound up with 14 runs and saw a maximum of 20. There was a car there with MULTIPLE drivers, the odometer clicked off 50 miles for the event!

... only 4 runs for the day? That's the usual for most places that have over 100 entries. We started at 10AM, we had about an hour lunch break between heats 2 and 3, and we finished about 4:15 (after an abnormally long 3rd heat... not sure what took so long there). |

The SCCA usually has 120+ cars, starts around 10 and packs up by 4:30 to 5:00 at the latest. Motorsports NE runs about the same time with 80 to 100 cars. We don't stop for lunch, work 1 or 2 heats out of the 4, drive 1 heat in the morning and the afternoon with 4 runs per heat. Course setup starts around 7ish I think.
Yes, it is a long day but for double the runs I think it is worth it. Or I could just be spoiled (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

We get 200-230 cars and usually get 3-5 (4 is common) runs at the local SCCA events. I remember when we had 75 cars and got 8 runs in 2 heats (2 run groups in the morning, then we ran them again after lunch). That was great.

I remember back in the day every club I ran with only gave you three runs. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
Not to sound like a snob, but if A.I. ever started trying to force in 8 runs with 120+ people, I wouldn't be part of the club. Yes I might run with the club but I wouldn't participate in any official capacity. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Throw in timing errors, newbies getting lost on course causing re-runs and an occasional busted car, (which we had all of Sunday) that is one pain-in-the-ass event to run. Plus, more runs will cut into what most people join A.I. for anyway. What do we join A.I. for? We can't talk about it. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Pat |

With 75 cars, we'd get the first car off at 10 am, swap (workers/drivers), lunch, off again at 12:30-ish, run, swap, trophies. We usually had trophies out by 4:45-5:30 PM and everyone had 8 runs (and sometimes fun runs while timing and scoring finished up.

You bet we'd be charging more, though! Yeah, we host events for selfish reasons, and it isn't for the ca$h. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/whip.gif) Pat Yep, he did (and good job to Brian and also Mike who had an even faster run than either of us but coned it). I don't think it's news to anyone that I'm human. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) |

I don't think it's news to anyone that I'm human. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Everybodys human. But it's fun, challenging and often humbling to run with/against the evo instructor/championship winners. When I've run against Danny Popp and been thoroughly trounced (which is an understatement), I started to understand what fast was. Running close to, or beating any of you guys is a challenge and that's really the reason it's "news". Being the best sorta makes you a target. |
