Nice write-up.

The wife and I dove into a shoe store where she bought a pair of shoes after looking at countless pairs, settling on the first pair she saw.

We then head over to Micheals to snag a pair of much coveted fake poinsettas.

Our day is almost complete when, while sitting in the food court drink a mocha latte, she spots a store that has to have these ear rings and necklace that would look fabulous with her new shoes.

In a very high voice and a hint of a lisp, I suggest she go look in there as I search for rescue. I found it in Sears ... the tool department.

I bought a pair of sanding wheels and recovered my manhood.

With my new found strength, I stood my ground and we ate at Red, Hot and Blue instead of Merry Heart Tea Room. Pulled pork over tuna on croissant any day ...

Costas, I live vicariously through you ....

I was eyeing up Craftsman's reversible ratchets for a few weeks. I saw the Sears ad showing 50% off the gearwrench version instead from 5 to 11am only. The difference is minor, Gearwrench has a lip on the ratcheting side so it wont slip past the nut where Craftsman can be used either way.

I woke up my normal time for work (5 am), left the house half an hour later (sooner than I've ever left for work!), got to Sears with both standard and metric sets in hand, paid with my 2 giftcards from graduation, and crawled back into bed by 6:03.

I figured Sears wouldn't be too crowded that early and they weren't. The Circuit City I passed had cars lined up on the highway, parked on the grass, with a line of people around the building!

That early stuff is for the birds!! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Went to local HF store at 11am. WW3 was in progress. Found a store employee who looked like he was trying to escape POW camp, but offered to go in the back to see if there were any tranny jacks still in stock. I half-expected to never see him again. He returned with a jack and I was in and out in less than 15 minutes.

I had planned to get up at 5 and go to Best Buy for the $179 Panasonic MiniDV camera (regularly $350), but after watching the evening news which depicted a bunch of people waiting outside a Best Buy the NIGHT BEFORE, I decided it was hopeless. So, I decided I would just go whenever I woke up and if there weren't any left, so be it.

So, next morning, I wake up just before 6. I get in the car and I'm there at 6:15. Place was a mob scene. I go over to the video camera section, see about 20 people in line and ask about the camcorder on special. They had 8 left even then! I couldn't believe it. If I had stuck to my 5:00 plan I would have got one for sure (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/gr_cry.gif)

Went to houston to the parents house, drug out of bed at 4:30 on friday still hungover from the day before (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/drink.gif) and off to the stores. It sounds bad, but atleast when we got to the mall I walked out with some new goodies by craftsman (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/2thumbs.gif)

MINE DOES THIS TOO!

Yup, we will hit DSW (where they stock like, 6.4 billion shoes) and she will walk a bit, find a pair she 'kinda likes', tries on her size (they fit) and then say 'well, let's keep looking'. About an hour later (or so it feels), we got BACK to the FIRST pair and buy them and leave. I've tried saying 'great, they look good, let's get them and go', but it never works. In her defense, she endures autocrosses, rallys, hpde's and roadracing with a smile and fresh food, so I'm for sure getting the good end of the deal, but that shoe store comment had me laughing out loud. Been there, done that!!!

The vettte was 30.6k. We've been looking for a while and still being under factory with new pilot run flats it is a solid deal. It is stock as a girl in white panties (no airbox mods, no exhaust mods, no hacking anywhere, etc) and she loves it. Through more searching we might have eeked out a better deal, but this was definately a very good deal and I can live with that. It follows my mantra 'keep the women happy' because when they are happy life goes much easier for me (and my racing!).

And it was DSW that this happened ...

Not a bad place to gurl watch ... lot's of bending, kneeling and crouching exposing a pierced naval from all kinds of angles.

Damn, did I just say that?

congrats Paul.. we're going to have to change the name of the site soon to include y-bodies.

I got to Best Buy (the local closet-sized store) at 0300 and found more people in line then there was room in the store. Luckily a friend of mine showed up at 0200 and was halfway in the line and he managed to get me one of the 17" LCD monitors for $79 (my CRT was on it's way out). I decided to look over at staples to see if there was much of a line over there, there was only a dozen people there, mostly Best Buy overflows, and of course staples didn't open for an hour after Best Buy. I grabbed tickets for the $400 laptop and the $150 GPS. I gave away the laptop ticket as I decided that I was too broke to buy one. I got the GPS even though I wasn't planning on it and it's much more convenient than my old system of setting up my laptop and old GPS. I also managed to score a 200gb SATA drive for $20 (advertised one was ATA).
