My son is interested in buying a 3rd or 4th gen car that he can work on in his spare time and take autocrossing and/or HPDE.

Can be a street car, or modified. Local selection sucks.

We are in North Florida. Budget under $7000 will dictate an older car with miles on it.

PM or email me.

Thanks

Bock

$7k is the budget?
They are all over up here in South Carolina for half of that, they do have miles on them but in decent shape for a track car.
Examples:
1) Teal 94 M6 Z28 171K needs a clutch and painted. 2 sunday's ago it went 8.11 @ 87.25mph 1.76 60'- CAI, headers, tune, 4.10s and no weight reduction that I know of. Car has always been quick! Guy is thinking about selling it for $4kish
2) Polo Green 95 A4, new tires, 16" Firebird 5spoke wheels, trans just rebuilt last week, 1.6RR, springs, EWP, CAI, New MSD Opti Cap/Rotor/Coil, everything works. runs 8.5s with mail order tune and bumper supports out. it can be had at $5kish. and it is ready to go NOW.

Just closing this thread.

18 year old son purchased a 96 Trans Am M6 (94 k miles) yesterday with his own money. It is stock with Ttops. (but I noticed a BMR panhard rod). He paid about 6 grand.

Thanks everybody for your help. Im trying to leave him alone to discover and make decisions on mods on his own.

Sounds like it needs the driver mod more than anything else.
