F-Body Road Racing and Autocross Forums _ General Discussion _ Bay Area Shops?

Posted by: Z28RR Feb 16 2018, 01:48 AM

Hey everyone,

New to the forum. Just picked up a 94 Z28 that I'm planning on running at local HPDEs. I was wondering if any of you have suggestions on shops around the Bay Area that are knowledgeable, do good work, and charge a fair price. I come from the import world so I have no experience with any shops in my area.

Thanks for the help.

Blaine Fabrication
Address: 363 Coral St, Santa Cruz, CA 95060
Phone: (831) 427-3296

Alan is also a sponsor here and one hell of a fabricator. You'll have to touch base with him, but I believe he will build you a car from the ground up. First class work and a great guy. Alan bent my cage "kit" for me and we spent many hours on the phone with install questions (to make sure I was doing it as he planned and things were going to fit). I've seen a few of his cages take some serious impacts and the drivers walked away.

Here's a thread about a seriously nasty hit that one of Alan's cages/cars took. The car held up beautifully and the driver was fine.

Thanks Kevin!

I also can do NASA HPDE tech, and am usually open in the evenings.

Regards,
Alan

And, the Bay Area is a big place - if coming to Santa Cruz isn't practical here are some good places to look for references:

and, typically more fab oriented:

I can't vouch for everyone on those lists but they are at least of like mind.
