right now I'm in a holiday inn express surfing frrax with my new cingular 8525 on their free wi-fi! anyway on the ride here from the airport we passed an old broken down building with big Aeromotive signs all over it. did that company start here in miami?

Aeromotive (as I understand it) was started by JR Granitelli, formerly of Paxton. I thought he was from Indy and now lived in California. I might be wrong on the Indy part, but I'm quite sure he's in Cali now.

I just passed by it again on the way back to the airport- its aeroquip, not aeromotive. The signs have the right logo and everything. Its just weird to see a company like that next to miami international airport!?

Actually, it's good to be that close to a major airport - I'm sure they use it as part of their distribution process. Cuts down on transportation time/costs to the airport.
Granatelli (at least the company) is in Oxnard, CA. I used to be stationed near there and visited their place once. |

Aeroquip has been there on 36 ST forever! I used to buy all of my fittings and braided lines from there. Very nice place to do business. One of those places that you could pretty much custom order anything that you want.

Thats only because John Wanye shuts down late at night so the noise levels way above Newport Beach Homes aren't distrubing- During this time though, noise levels on the ground are unoffensive to the numerous closed industries all around the airport as Steve Millen rolls back that hole in his fence and does late night testing of his Nissan GTP #83 car down runway 1. It kinda makes sense since braided lines and -AN fittings were used in aviation, long before hot rodders ever caught on, kinda where the Aero in the name came from I'm guessing. |
