This thread:

http://www.corner-carvers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34137

Gives a mostly one sided view of the incident, until late in the thread when there's a link to a motocross forum where someone that talked to the people that initiated the effort to ban drifting gives their side of it.

Here in California....folks just like this bozo have wrecked plenty of race tracks.....Laguna and Sears now operate under near oppressive sound constraints.....others have been closed for folks moving next door then complaining....sigh....a MAJOR pet peeve of mine.... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

The moron who built a winery next to Sears now has a FREAKIN sound meter in his office at the winery, and can....and does.....call in everything over the minimum decible level..... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/nutkick.gif)

Sounds like the track owners have shot themselves in the foot, but ultimately, the home owner is a grade A dumbass.

Very true. It's starting to sound like the track owners could have curbed this issue long before it got out of hand, but that still doesn't dismiss the home owner from being a douche bag about building next to a track and raising hell.

Sad thing is our region was considering using Altamont speedway as a semi permanent autocross site. That idea has been curbed for the foreseeable future (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

I live as close to Roseville Speedway as Rivard lives to Altamont and the majority of folks in my neighborhood absolutely love the speedway. The speedway has done their part in controlling traffic, parking and noise. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/drink.gif)

Too bad I have to drive 2 hours to go chase cones but if I was into circle track racing I could just push my car to the track (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/2thumbs.gif)

why don't the track give the idiots a restraining order forbidding them to go with certain distance of the track,... maybe forcing them to take detours, and not pass on the street accessing the track.
That'd serve them good.
Someone just needs to buldoze their house or organise a burnout contest on their driveway while they are on vacation.

let me build a house just in front of train tracks... and then make a mess and try to force the closure of the track, even barricade it.
if i would be smart... i just wouldn't build next the the train tracks in the first place.

The stupidity of their argument is astounding..

You build a ridiculous house right next to a race track and expect it not to be noisy...
