Ok I found this clear static cling material for $2.07 a yard x 27". It says that "Signs should be back-lettered so that enamel will not transfer onto the window when baked by the sun" what does back lettered mean? |

I'm really not sure... but here's my guess. I've only seen that material used on the inside of windows. I think they mean to put the letters and numbers on the back of the material so it's not stuck between the transfer material and the window, that way you have the static cling plastic as a buffer to keep them from sticking to the window... kinda like what happens when you leave printed paper up against a binder and leave it in a hot car... the toner transfers to the binder.

makes sense. So I can buy this stuff and regular sticky vinyl and put it on the static cling stuff. I should also see if they have white static cling then I can have a friend cut the numbers for me. I figured this would be a good way to get all those other pesky stickers on the car.

I bought some of this very same material the other week (must be a Google thing) with the idea of using it for the required Tour and Pro decals. Figured it was worth a shot for the price.
Going to try it this weekend. |

Tried it this morning with some old parts decals I had laying around. Seems to work well enough.
