F-Body Road Racing and Autocross Forums _ Classifieds _ WTB: 4th gen 17" (or 18") wheels

Posted by: trackbird Jul 10 2017, 10:47 AM

I'm looking for an economical set of wheels that will potentially clear a Stoptech brake kit to use for the UMI autocross (and other events/street tires, etc). I figured I'd see what was lurking in everybody's garages here before I buy something.

What do you have?

I have a set of 17x11s I will not likely ever use again. AFS ZR1 style, polished. They are the older 2200 lb rated wheels.

I was hoping to stay with 9.5 or 10", but I was considering 11's.

How much shipped to Galloway, OH 43119?

If I read the UPS site correctly, shipping is about $41 each plus packaging. Is $500 plus shipping a fair price for the wheels?

I think you'll be better off to sell them local (I'd rather not offer you something insulting for them). I can buy 17x11 OE wheels from Jegs for $530 a set of 4 (and pick them up after work). Shipping and boxing is going to be a killer.

I was hoping to find a $200 or so set of SS wheels. I just missed a set in PA as I was traveling. Didn't think I'd be in the area and then I drove right by the exit for that town. Crap. lol.

No big deal, I'll just keep them. Maybe I can find a use for them at some point. I've been kicking around the idea of a set of NT05S for track use. I know they aren't the fastest tire, but 200 TW 315s should be faster than my 340 TW 275s. Just not sure I want to drop $1000 for tires I'd get to really use once or twice a year.
