Looking for a '93 Camaro 1LE rear sway bar. Not in any big rush but thought I would put it out there in case anyone runs across one.

Thanks!

Hey Mark,

That's a 21mm rear bar which is the same as what came on lots of 3rd gens. That may be a much easier / cheaper bar to find than a "real" '93 1LE rear bar.

HTH,

Jason S.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be checking the local pull-a-part next time I am there.

Jason,

Is it really the same? I recall different part numbers. I probably have one in the garage somewhere. This is the stock hollow 21 mm bar like I ran on the 93 when it went to ESP right?

Let me look. It may still be on the 93 which is in LV in storage. Although I think I had several. Heck it could be on the 98, but I think I am running a 21 mm solid on it.

Sorry guys. What I have in stock is a 7/8ths inch solid by BMR still in the wrapping and a 19 mm addco solid.

Apparently the 93 21 mm hollow is on one of the Camaros and neither are here at the house.

And GM rear bars aren't hollow.

I have 22mm hollow bars in stock... And you know that's a little less unsprung weight you have to drag around. FWIW, I've seen 15, 17, 18, 19, 21, 23, and 24 bars stock from GM. But I never saw a 3rd gen with a 21 on it. Might have been but not on the top of the line cars, maybe on RS's and such.

Hey Perry,

Thanks for looking. As much as the 21 "hollow" 1LE bar was supposed to exist, it doesn't as Sam stated. I've cut the ends off of one to for an adjustable setup and it is most certainly solid.

Sam, I pulled one off of something in a junk yard. I think it was an RS, but my memory is a bit fuzzy since it was ~2000.

Well, I guess if there are lots of 17+ year old RS's around. I know the last '92 RS I worked on had 34/23's on it.

Not a lot to add, but I bought a brand new 1le 21mm rear bar from GM back in 2004 and it was most certainly solid.

There are a few 3rd gen specific junk yards out here which is the reason I added the comment.
