i help organize a charity event called the molson indy bike for tykes with my boss. she was nice enough to give me tickets to the molson indy driver's party that is hosted by paul tracy. last year at the party, i met a bunch of drivers, and some ex trans-am guys like tommy kendall, who was conducting interviews for the media.

the funniest part of the evening was when there was some mixup at the entrance and the owner of the champ car series, who was standing right behind me in the line with a bunch of sponsors, was denied entry into the event!!!

This will be the first year I've missed the Molson Indy since 1996. I had a choice to go track lapping or Indy. I chose the former. Too bad I couldn't do both. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Paul Tracy rocks! Remember when he was a rookie and crashing almost every race? He also wore glasses back then- he must have had lasik! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

OMSC it is! I am eagerly anticipating this, since it is my first time on a track in almost a year (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

wow! that is a long time to go without a "hit" of the go-fast crack pipe.

if you are looking for another event to go to, mark August 19th on your calendar. I know someone renting shannonville for the day. the last time i went with this organizer, it was about $150 for full track between 9-5pm.

Shannonville is probably too far out for me. I live about 3 hours from TO. Factor in the damned traffic jam at 401 and 427 ( a jam that has existed every time I've gone through in the last 5 years) and who knows how long it'll take to get to Shannonville, but I'm guessing about 5 hours at least.

I try to get to TMP when it is open, or Dunneville, and the DDT. This year I may also make it to Waterford Hills for the first time. <fingers crossed> (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
