Does anyone know how to work with the heater hoses like in the box below? I know you can buy them ($$$$) premade but there has to be another option.

Is it as simple as cutting the old hose off and clamping a new one on?

Google search for a tipco hose near you. They manufactured or custom make anything hose related.
