SOLD

1992 B4C Camaro RS (police package): 305ci/5sp; 150,000 miles. It is one of only 589 B4C-option Camaros built in 1992, and there were only 592 made in 1991. These 1181 are the only police-package 3rd-gen Camaros ever made. They are essentially 1LE race-package cars with air conditioning and a radio (1LE is one of the option codes on the option stickers of these cars). They come with the dual-converter exhaust, an oil cooler, and the big 11.86” front brakes with PBR dual-piston calipers (same as on C4 Vettes and SVT Cobras) and the special spindle required to accommodate them.

This one was purchased from the Texas Department of Public Safety and has seen limited miles since then, mostly for autocrossing and some leisure driving. I am friends with the previous civilian owners and am familiar with the thorough mechanical maintenance the car has received. It is accident-free and in excellent mechanical condition. It has a newer alternator and radiator. It has a new exhaust from the Y-pipe to exhaust tips, including two new catalytic converters and a new Flomaster cat-back. It also has new Firestone Wide Oval street tires with, at the most, 2000 miles on them. It has yellow (Sport) Koni single-adjustable struts in front and red Koni single-adjustable shocks in back. The known issues with the car are all realted to appearance. It still has the cheap black paint the DPS applies when they auction the cars, and that paint is in bad shape. It has the GM-factory-applied black-and-white paint underneath, and so is free of rust. There are a couple dings in the driver-side door and the hood, and the front chin spoiler is cracked (as on nearly all 3rd-gen Camaros). The interior is somewhat rough, too. It needs a new dash pad, new or reupholstered seats, a new headliner, and some trim replacement. The window tint applied by a previous owner also needs to be replaced or removed.

Asking $2900 obo. Thanks for looking.

The car is sold. Apparently you have to be pretty fast to beat Costas to the punch! So Paul, 2 down, only 1179 to go?

Good lord that was fast. I think 23 minutes is a new frrax record for selling a car. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/drink.gif)

Paul, how many f-bodies do you have these days?

Well...I rarely sit on my heels for any length of time. Glad to set a record too! We need
to have a sticky thread with useless frrax facts that this could go into! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/cool2.gif)

Awww...C'mon Kevin. Don't put me on the spot like that. Gimme a few days (call it 6) and
I'll answer that question. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif)

At that price, if I had known about it, I'd would have jumped on it. B4Cs are awesome cars. You will never know about them until you have driven one, right, Paul?

Dayum! Lost a chance at another one!! Okay, Paul, LMK if you ever decide to get rid of one of those. We live in the county, and don't have enough old Camaros in the front yard. Luckily, we have none on cinder blocks with plants growing out of them. ;-)

Gene,

Nah...I have three F-BODIES. Only two are 92 1LE/B4C 5.0/t5 cars. The other is Scratcher...the gt1 with the 4th gen bodywork. The handful of other 92 1LE/B4C cars I know about are very not-for-sale.

Costas,

If you can pick up about 30 more we could have a spec "B4C" class. I guess we've already done that on a much smaller scale back in the day.

Did Matt leave any peanut butter and jelly sandwiches under the seats for ya? I dig the vintage Tirerack stickers.

Paul,

Let me know if you need a set of center caps for those wheels. I've got a nice set from the 1992 Z28 I just drug home. The caps are virtually in mint condition, the wheels are not. However, I'm not using the wheels and would gladly sell off the caps if you need such a thing.

If I decide to part with my Z28 grill, I'll let you know.

Kevin,

Yes, I'm interesed in the center caps (unless Matt still has the set....he has some boxes to ship me and I'll ask). Z28 grills are pretty cheap from GM, but if you want to get rid of one, let me know what you need for it (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

No problem. Just let me know on the caps.

I wasn't sure if the grill was available or not these days. Keep me posted on that while I figure out what I'm going to do.

We did that a year ago in Houston. We had, I think 5 B4Cs, our 92 FS car on street tires (or very tired V700s), Matt in his (now Paul's) 92, Tony in his 92, and Jim Livings in his 95 B4C-1LE, and maybe another, but I don't remember. We had about 8 or 9 drivers. IIRC, Matt won the event. Tried to get Paul to participate, but his schedule wouldn't cooperate. It was a lot of fun.
