I recently purchased a Toshiba 160 gig DVR so that we could send back the one we are renting from my cable company. However, my wife likes the cable company unit and we now have both of them. So, this one needs to find a good home. I purchased it about 5 weeks ago and have recorded many of the August Speed Channel races on the hard drive (and have watched about one of them). So, if you'd like, I'll leave the races on the drive and you can watch them and delete them as you wish. It came from Crutchfield, just before they cleared them out and I paid $299 for it (it was $349 or so and I got it as the price dropped). I have the box, manuals, etc. I purchased a bunch of cables by Monster Cable for it when I bought it and I may not be using them anywhere else, so if you need cables, let me know and we might be able to work something out there (if not, they just go in my box of spares, they'll get used on something eventually).

For someone looking for a quick and easy way to take your in-car footage and convert to DVD, this is the shiz-nit.
I have a Pioneer unit similar to this one and you will absolutely throw rocks at your PC's DVD burner. |

Toshiba RD-XS52 DVD recorder + 160GB digital video recorder and DVD video upconversion I have this same unit (bought it last April for about $450). It is very nice, has a ton of space, and many capabilities! You can name Videos, make menus, etc. Just have to get intimate with the manual. It is very easy to digitally record tv shows. My main use for it is to record track videos from my Digitial 8 camcorder. |

I knew they were more, I just couldn't remember how much more when I first started looking. When the price dropped I grabbed one, I guess I just don't really need it (since the wife is keeping the other one).

Yes Neil ... please buy this unit. Get it off the board ... please! But, if I do not get it you can pick it up when you visit next week! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) install it in your fire spitting vw. Sadly, it appears that it might be departing from my stable. |

I saw the post on trackaddicts that it might be going away. It's being replaced by another VW. It might not spit flames but then it is not running at the moment either. And is in stock form which means I can change classes to HS. Either way, I will still (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/nutkick.gif) Garrett! |

Sweet, I have a "thing" for the '86 era GTi's. I had an '87 Golf GT once and an assortment of other similar vintage VW's. What's wrong with it?

Sweet, I have a "thing" for the '86 era GTi's. I had an '87 Golf GT once and an assortment of other similar vintage VW's. What's wrong with it? It has been standing for 6+ years. It will run for a while and then foul the plugs. I think a tank flush, new fuel lines ans a good checkup of the CIS-E injection system will solve the problem. The title was signed for transfer in 98. The previous owner never re-titled the car and the current owner never did either. I thought there might be a lien problem too, but I think the extra document shows that the lien has been paid off. At least I hope so since the bank is (from what I could find) no longer in business. To make it even more difficult is the fact that the original title was issued in Maryland. |

That should be fun. There is a way to apply for a "claim title" (I forget the term) where they eventually issue you a title (if nobody else claims it). If nothing else works, that might. Or, maybe that car is actually a Jetta......(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I think I will be OK. It just seems as if I will have to pay a small fee for not titling the vehicle within 30 days.
