Well its that time of yr again. One Lap Of America is only a wk away. Everyone is looking forward to Daytona this yr. There are bets going around on who will be the first car past 200mph!!. There's a auto-cross put on by the Cinn region and a paved oval. Normal fun stuff. Im again in a 02 corvette. Hopefully the car is going to be done. Whats left at GM HPVO is finshing up the motor. Guess they went into the C-5r parts bin. But I really wont know until I drive the car. What I was told and what is going to be done are 2 different things.

John

I will try to come out to BR but 8-May is when I had planned to take my wife out for our anniversary.

Then again, maybe you shouldn't plan on seeing me.

Keith would be great to see you. But the wife comes first!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wasn't able to make the TT session last month to get the cob-webs out. Just have to wing it with the new found power and redline.

Too bad you couldn't have made it this weekend. We had 5 cars in the TT sessions on Saturday and I was completely alone yesterday (guess what? I won my class yesterday!).

Let's see how things play out. My plans with my wife aren't firm and (prior to this past weekend) she has mentioned that I don't get out enough to play with my cars anymore. Let's see if her attitude holds.

I had hoped to run again this year but my work timeline has reared its ugly head. I do plan on being at Sebring to watch the fun though. Best of luck.

I'm trying to get my work schedule sorted out so I can be at Daytona on Wednesday but I'm super busy at the moment so we'll see. I've hit an indicated 140 mph with my bolt on mods only LT1 at Daytona so I'm sure some of the high horsepower stuff is going to be moving. Scary stuff in a street car. In 05 I was in a white Fox body mustang with a 5 link rear end. We ended up eating a bearing on the dyno at Steeda prior to starting One Lap. So the car ate oil the entire week and we went ahead and drove back to Florida once we got to the track in Georgia. All in all it was a great experience. I had planned to run the Camaro this year but I have to be in Virginia for work at the end of next week. I already took off work for Tuesday, so me and one of my 05 co-drivers will be at Sebring cheering you guys on.

guys just a quick note havent had internet until today. Had electrical at the skid with a bad fuse for the left back of injectors. quick fix wire rubbed through the left rear crash bracket. Rudy did a great job at Autobahn. I did okay at the AX race. finished 21 but did it on my 2nd run. Had help from a local Cinni region Champ (not Danny P). member and was going way better until brake issue in a certain corner. He drove the car for 4 runs after and the car did the same thing to him. Not enough heat in the front brakes. He was 2.5 second quicker than me in the ride along. He said I did 100% everything he told me to do. Not bad seeing that I NEVER was on AX course before. I might have to try this when I get back. Im up early owner is snoreing BAD>>>.. I'll try yo update when I can...
Car # is 24...

Thank for the support

Hey Guys. Just a quick update. Race is done and Im back home. Finished 13th overall, 7 in class, 1st place in the fuel mileage challenge. 30.77mpg.

Had a blast, car was sorted more than last yr. Scared the shit out of myself at Daytona. Balls said keep foot on floor, Brain said lift.

Turfway AX: 21th first time ever on AX track
Talladega GP 15th and 19th damp track
Daytona 10th and 10th(wow that is a fast track)
BMW performance center 9th
Beave Run 8th and 6th(KeithO Im in the 1:04s)
Gainsville heads-up 15th missing 4th gr bad and a 5th at bracket drag

Car owner results
Wet skid pad 55th
Autobahn 22th
Sebring 24th and 19th
Caronlina MP 29th(wet) 23rd
Damp skid pad 38th

As you can tell there is a distinct difference in our drving.

Car was a top ten car if the Car-owner did not drive. I was able to have a local AX racer do fun runs in the car and we put our heads together to try and get some more rear grip. I was able to sneak out some air pressure in the rear tires 3psi (35 to 32) at the Bracket drag and just happend to not put it back in!!!!! That helped with my rear traction issue!!!!! Can anybody tell me on my results where the Air Pressure change was made?

Only issue during the wk was a blown fuse for the left bank of injectors on the skid pad. I was not happy with the brakes on the car. Vibrating at 160+mph at daytona doesnt instill confidence in them. Car owner said it was normal... NOT!!!!!! We made it back in One piece and the Car now has 150,000+ miles on it.

Very nice, John. Very Nice.

1:04's at BR is extremely quick. It appears that you backed all of up on the other events, too.

Reading between the lines, I have to believe you had more fun than the last time.

Congratulations.

Keith I always have fun at this event. Not having to worry about the money/repairs/entry for the wk and drving the wheels off the car is the only way to go racing. I do have one issue with the car/owner thats needs to be addressed. Basically what engine really is in the car? Based on my 1/4 mile MPH, what I was told and what it really is 2 big differences. I wont go into all the details but I hint in my first post that something might be amiss and it was. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

Keith BR was a blast. I was 4 sec over 3 laps quicker this yr than last yr. Not bad for NO test time in the car and No track days since this time last yr.

Mitch still in the pipeline for some stuff. Havent heard anything. The mechanic postion we were talking about havent heard a thing. As for the Border Patrol Agent I've passed most of the steps. Just waiting on my Background check to begin.
