Holy god, I just watched the in car videos of Plaid mode takeoff. So fast. Even with some tire squeal its amazing. Imagine that car with R compound tires. And they claim a 1/4 mile time of 8.x seconds? Electric again crushes the Hellcat. I'm not sure I can even imagine that car at autocross.

It's all about the size of the 'gas tank'. If you rolled up to the strip in your AA/A drag car that has a 2 gallon Mooneyes gas tank on the front frame rails, all you'd do is make a few passes and you'd be dead, too. Of course, you'd need a bigger 'tank', which really puts on the pounds, or, better yet, quick-change battery packs.
The sound is a thing, but I'd liken it to the sound of a turbo 4 vs. NA V8 vs. supercharged V8. They all make different, cool sounds, like I bet this thing does too. So I guess that 'Plaid Mode' is Tesla for 'Flannel Shirt-wearing Redneck Drag Racing Mode'? |
