I miss autocrossing, road racing, track days, and typing about cars.

I recently had an old thread (and subsequent flame) get reactivated and it might be enough to actually get me off my hindsight and underneath the car again.

That, and my 15 year-old daughter recently got her driver's permit and I think we're going to get some of her driving experience around the orange cones (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) She's highly motivated. There's nothing cooler than a girl who likes to drive fast at a race course: Except perhaps when that girl is your daughter , co-driver, and pit crew.

I have 2 girls, one is 2yrs and the other is 5 weeks. My oldest is obsessed with "daddy's race car".... it makes my heart melt when she says that. I hope she continues to like cars as she grows up.

That's the great thing about racing, it's always here when you're ready to come back.

As far as the flame, you guys talking about that crazy dude from California on TGO?

Yeah, I don't understand it at all. I've had a discussion about Dean with JamesC before. The mod's over there act likes its a huge inconvenience to ban someone. On other site's I've moderated before you check IP's when this crap happens and it's an insta-ban for creating a new screen name, no questions about it.

Don't let him get to you.

I'm certainly not bashful about "trading paint" with people online, but I've somehow always gotten along with Dean. He's been cycling through screen names over there for at LEAST 10yrs, probably more. He lost his thirdgen in a divorce probably 5 yrs ago yet he still goes over there, for what reason I haven't a clue.

All that being said, I've traded PMs and posts with him, and I know he's got some pretty serious personal/family issues. I wouldn't ever let any personal attack of his online influence you in any way if you can help it.
