There is a movement to get a series going at the Road Course at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park (aka Englishtown Dragway) that is based on the 24 Hours of Lemons concept. There is not a lot of promotion going yet, but a few of us are trying to get the ball rolling.

The first race is a 2hr tentatively slated for January 24th, just enough time to slap together the $500 piece that the rules allow and head to the track to play.

There are a few teams being put together by members of the NJFBOA, including one looking for some members still. Check out the Road Racing/Autocross forum on www.NJFBOA.org to see more about those.

This is a simple series, based on fun. If you have a few hundred bucks or a beater laying around, this is your chance to have some fun this winter.

Link doesn't work.

I've heard rumors about this series and someone is trying to get me on their team. But personally I don't really like autocrossing on that road course and can't imagine it with traffic and no cones to slow down the dangerous parts that have no runoff room.

But for some reason I'm still interested.

Fixed the link.

I am not a big fan of throwing cones out as an attempt to slow the pace sine as you stated, it will create congestion. Right now, we are looking at a starting point though. Since brakes are free to modify since they relate to safety, I don't see anyone having an excuse to come with something unsafe. If the practice day happens, I hope that the people in charge will listen to the suggestions and concerns of the racers.

already have a 4 driver team together, of which tim is part of. youre missing out on what could be a hell of a good time chris. so what if there are cones to slow the pace. theres enough runoff for the slow speeds we'll be having. no where else could you ever get into wheel to wheel racing for this cheap. don't cut your nose off to spite your face. with preliminary reports coming in, there may a huge amount of participation for this event.

if youre still interested, there are a few of our local f-body club members putting together their own teams. i can forward you to them, as they are looking for people.

I never said I'm not interested at all, I just want to see how it all pans out.

Let me know if you are interested in coming down to watch.

There are a few more people looking into putting cars together, a few interesting ones at that. Hopefully it will turn into something.
