It's always more fun driving 1300 miles with 20 of your closest car buddies. Besides, you double your gas mileage drafting an enclosed trailer! There are caravans going to Memphis from all corners, so we'll need someone in each one to take the lead. Aim to arrive at the hotel on Wednesday afternoon to check in, grab a quick shower and dinner before the driver's meeting Wednesday night.

If you'd like to start a caravan from your area, just make a post with the general trip in the title - "MA/CT/NY/NJ Caravan" so others that are interested can post in the thread. As time gets closer and you guys work out the details, update the first post with a rough itinerary so folks get an idea of what's planned and who's meeting up when and where. The NY/NJ/CT Caravan would usually meet up with the MD/VA/NC guys in VA on Tuesday night at the far west corner of VA, all stay at the same hotel, and we'd be 20 strong rolling into the hotel.

I'll edit this post to show the different caravans planned. So far:

MA/CT/NJ/NY - Leave Tuesday 5/13, South on Rt81 to stay over in SW Virginia Tuesday night to meet up with the Mid Atlantic group. Wednesday continue across TN on Rt40. Alternate way would be across PA, then south through OH and KY.

Andris

Michigan to Memphis is still wide-open. Glenn Waineo and I haven't decided which way we'll go, either I75 South to KY, or else head towards Chicago and work our way down through Illinois. One way is 40 miles shorter for me, the other is 30 miles shorter for Glenn.

Now I'm getting excited!

The check engine lamp is officially OFF and functional, the nitrous solenoids go Pssssss!! the brakes work, and the engine starts instantly. Race tires are loaded in the car, and all I need to to is pack the emergency survival toolkit & spare parts, clothes, sunglasses, cameras, and a big fat wallet full of gas money and we'll be good to go!

Now, Glenn and I are thinking of taking I69 through Indianapolis and then through Louisville, KY in order to get there, so who is heading that way to the event? Want to meet up somewhere?
