The race will be on televised TODAY 7/30/11, at 3:00 PM ET, 12 Noon PST! on SPEED, set your DVR's or tune in!
Keep an eye on the blue #78 BimmerWorld GS class M3! This is another VERY good and jam-packed exciting race! This was my first weekend racing in Grand-Am, I learned a lot and had a lot of fun..but mistakes were made on both my and the teams parts (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) All in all it finished well and I helped give the team their 3rd best finish of the season. Be sure to catch it! Chris Ronson, Jr. |

Thanks, Bucknum actually helped me onto the front straight when i was a lap down trying not to fall further back (we pit under green) (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) No, there season drivers only signed an 8/10 contract for the season, so they had Road America and NJMP open. I got lucky and got in for NJMP. I know they were happy with me and how I did being in a new car and new track with severely limited prep time, they mentioned when they get another open seat they'd like me to come back. So we'll see what happens, right now I'm working with a guy who can help me get into a full time or part-time seat next year. Just a waiting game right now (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) |

The #6 and 6.2 cars are based here in Va Beach. I've been following them for a while now too! Been to the shop, talked to the guys and found out that I auto x with the fuel guy and went to college with the chief engineer! Glad to see an f-body team back in the mix! Nice job on the ride Chris, didn't mean to hijack your thread! I'm thinking of running an HPDE up at NJMP some time this year, Just got checked off for HPDE 2 at VIR two weeks ago.

It's definitely a small world. No worries, thread was dead anyways (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/2thumbs.gif) Does HPDE run Thunderbolt or Lightning? (they have 2 different tracks; lightning i believe is typically the 'club racer' track while Thunderbolt has 2 configurations and is the 'pro' track) |

Congrats on the race! I hope you get more opportunities there in the future. The closest I've been was working fire bottle on a pitstop for an ST car at VIR. Still fun though, haha!

Hopefully that wasn't in the dead of summer heat, if so..I bet you were kicking yourself in the ass sweating profusely in the fire suit (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/nutkick.gif) I really felt for the fuelers. Have to be fully suited up to fuel the cars even in the paddock (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) This post has been edited by Chris Ronson Jr: Aug 3 2011, 04:44 PM |

Haha, it was in April, so not too hot. But I do some side work for Sunoco at NASCAR races, full firesuit on at Bristol in August is a bitch! The worst was years ago when Darlington had the Labor Day race! Firesuit, plus head sock and goggles and apron, and the temp 100* in the shade, not fun!

Insane for sure! I'd much rather be in the car for an hour and a half then in their suits/masks/goggles all day (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |

Does HPDE run Thunderbolt or Lightning? (they have 2 different tracks; lightning i believe is typically the 'club racer' track while Thunderbolt has 2 configurations and is the 'pro' track) depends on what track is free. ive done both tracks with different groups. thunderbolt has one config. the only difference is the inclusion or exclusion of the bus stops.
